The Armory Life is a firearms lifestyle media site. It offers daily online content including gun reviews, training pieces, historical articles and much more. It also features a quarterly print magazine publication. The Armory Life is owned and operated by Springfield Armory.
Editor-in-Chief: Mike Humphries
Mike Humphries is editor of The Armory Life website. He is also editor-in-chief of The Armory Life print magazine. He has worked in the firearms industry for more than two decades and has been with The Armory Life since 2019.
Mike started out his career on the editorial staff of The National Rifle Association’s American Rifleman magazine, and helped launch American Rifleman Television. In the years since, he has held editorial positions with publishers including FMG Publications, GunsAmerica and Harris Publications.
During his many years in the industry, he has helped launch a range of new titles and websites; had articles published across publications and platforms as varied as Field & Stream and Soldier of Fortune; and has been involved in television, digital and print properties. In addition to his editorial role with The Armory Life, he also helped launch The Armory Life print magazine.
Managing Editor: Richard Johnson
Richard Johnson is the managing editor for The Armory Life website. A former police officer and trainer, he left public service to be a full-time author, editor and entrepreneur. He has been with The Armory Life since 2020.
Richard’s firearms articles have been published by the National Rifle Association, Athlon Outdoors, Human Events, Police & Security News, The Firearm Blog and more. He has also worked for non-firearms publications including the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News. He founded Tac6 Media, Guns Holsters and Gear, Blue Sheepdog and other companies.
Richard is a court-recognized expert in a variety of subjects including firearms, and he has served in an advisory role to a U.S. Senator and the citizens’ oversight committee for a major U.S. city’s police department.
