
Larry Rodriguez worked as a special agent and firearms instructor in the DEA for almost 22 years. Larry and his partner took first place in the 2006 Snipercraft Team Challenge in Florida, and he is also the winner of the Firearms Proficiency “Top Gun” Award in his academy class. This is in addition to his acquiring the DEA Distinguished Pistol Expert Award upon graduation. Hired out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, most of his career took him to overseas hot spots in Central and South America, and West Africa. Being a native Spanish speaker, he is also fluent in English and Portuguese. He has conducted firearms training in Puerto Rico, Florida, South Texas, and while on diplomatic status, to DEA and other U.S. embassy personnel and host nation counterparts in Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Ghana. Prior to his law enforcement career, Larry was a freelance translator and Shotokan karate instructor. Now in his retirement, he enjoys his time on road trips and leisure travel with his wife, an amateur photographer, and his Australian Labradoodle, Jinji.
