Got up this morning and it had snowed last night. Supposed to get into the 50s today. Our temp swings are (almost) as freaky as Texas'. Anyway, now that the ground has some moisture in it and the lawn is threatening to green up, I have to get into my garden and pull some obnoxious thistles before they decide to propagate. I have leather gauntlets for that, and I get stuck even through those...I look like I've been in a cat fight when I'm done. Thistles up here grow to the size of trees if you let them go. When we cleared this lot 10 years ago, they were as big as some of the poplars, and they are extremely tenacious. We even used Eraser, which you can't even find anymore because it's the poisonest poison out there. (I know, I know Mr. Gatekeeper @Annihilator, that's not a word but...it fitsChecking weather for today
46° for the high, so that dropped 10+° from yesterday
I did some runs back when I was young and foolish. The last run was explosives and your stops to eat and fuel were set up by dispatch. So I make the stop on schedule but you had to have your rig in sight while eating, except the little out of the war would not allow a truck with expensive on board park inside the city limits. Guess no one check out the rules but the local constable brought out a dinner to where I had to park. That was last run as a truck driver.as a former trucker...we had NO holidays off...we were lucky to be home on christmas day, and maybe thanksgiving day, IF we happened to have been dispatched home time.
that was my long haul days.
when i said "enough was enough with that BS", i worked more regionally or locally, some home time was MUCH better
when even in my earlier days as a mechanic/manager of a service station, it was open sundays, holidays for all the rummy's that couldn't find time to gas up during the week.
that did not affect me, we had gas jockey's
yeah, over the years i had lots of hazmat loads.I did some runs back when I was young and foolish. The last run was explosives and your stops to eat and fuel were set up by dispatch. just finished touch-up painting the kitchen, living room, and all the window sills that we put the a/c's into each summer.
very small amount of work...the most time consuming thing was to find the paint cans in the cellar (they are all marked but in different locations), then lugging them up 2 flights of stairs...and this was just for our place.
wife tells me, that after like 12 years, she wants me to re-do our bathroom...!!
she wants to see paint samples next week........
oh my aching ass, back, arms, and legs.....
everyone knows the older WE get, the more harder things are to do.
its like saying no to sex.......
at my age...??
very easy to say NO.....!!!!!!!!
but she might hold a knife to my throat.

Ribs done at 3:30PM. Wife and I don't care for bbq sauce just salt, pepper and garlic powder. When wrapped in foil applied soft butter to meat side. Came out very good.Got the ribs on at 8:30AM.

Well, thistles in MN are indestructible.
Anyway, I have to start that process now before they wake up. At least the sun will be out.![]()
Why, thank you! I feel speshel now.
Dang…I knew I pushed too far.
