I agree with most of the points in the original post. We need to practice situational awareness and try to as much as possible avoid trouble. When carrying a firearm, let’s remember that “to whom much is given, much is required”.

In addition to compact S&W, I also carry a multi-tool. I keep a tool bag and flashlight in the car. Almost forgot to mention; a roll of duct tape.
