I owned two of the XD-m models some years ago, and thought that they were OK, but eventually sold them off for something new. Once the Elite version came to market i just had to try again, and I'm so glad I did. I love my XD-m Elite as much or more than most any gun in my collection of guns, but...

This review is almost exactly the way i would have done it. When he says near the end of the video review (5:20 mark), that "this is an absolutely fantastic evolution to the XD-m line", I have to find myself in complete agreement.

As someone stated earlier in the thread, "the X5 is at a whole other level". Can you just imagine how much better this 10-yard group would be if it were made with an X5 instead of an XD-m Elite? You might actually need calipers to determine the number of shots fired!!!

The most accurate of all my semi-auto pistols has been my custom SA 1911. It started life as a Loaded model, but all the internals were replaced, including the barrel and bushing. This eventually became the benchmark to measure all my other pistols against to judge accuracy. 15-yards unsupported

I posted a writeup in the XDTalk Forums on my new XD-M Elite 5.25 Precision, but the gist of it is that the new Elite is simply awesome! 25-yard initial sighting from the bench (5-rounds): 10-yard off-hand group for fun:

SA was able to reduce the price of the Elite series by not bundling it with a suitcase full of stuff that most of us don't need. My Elite 5.25 Precision came in a cardboard box with just 3 mags and a zippered gun rug. As for me, I'll take the savings over stuff!
