M1A: Too Outdated for Self-Defense, or Best Bug-Out Gun Ever?

Too bad you didn't do a similar article for the SOCOM 16. The only advantage the Scout has over the SOCOM 16 is 2 inches on the barrel, but, as result, the SOCOM 16 is even more maneuverable due to the 16 inch barrel instead of the 18 inch barrel. In addition, the SOCOM 16 also has a wonderful...

    Sig mags, might fit Canik

The poor guy is living in a state that forbids the normal capacity magazines. I understand the feeling. It's been 4 years since I moved from Kalifornia and I'm still replacing the neutered magazines with standard capacity ones.

What's not to love about shooting 10mm. My wife found that she likes .45 ACP better than 9mm. And got better groupings.

I kind of figured that you were. At some point I will be building an AR15 PCC in 45 ACP with Gold Trump components from GUN TEC.

I suspect your wife will be most appreciative of the lower recoiling round.

If you wear glasses, something to be aware of. If you have astigmatism, some red dot sites will have a "flair" effect. In other words, the dot will not be crisp and clear. You will want to do some reading. https://scopesfield.com/best-red-dot-sights-for-astigmatism

Hadn't thought of that. But, maybe I'll go with gold instead, at least on the Kimber..

I would say the red dot is more important than the forward grip. The first generation of SAINT uses Key Mod, not M-Lock. Those holes are where you would attach things like forward/vertical grips. You can also mount a light there as well. You may need to look for key-mod rails. They have...

I don't have BUIS, I have MIS (Mechanical Iron Sights). I prefer them over the red dots just to keep myself in practice. The red dot is my backup in case my eyes get tired. I may be old and have to wear glasses, but I can still hit a clay pigeon at 200 yards with iron sights.

I, personally, think you picked the better of the two. I bought one of the first SAINTS when they came out in 2016. They hit the market in November of 2016. In California, you only had 40 days in which you could purchase one. A lot will depend on what you want to do with your new SAINT. ...

    O Henry .45 70

I'm sure you will love it, as long as you aren't a wimp. I have the Henry 45-70 with Loading Side Gate. I absolutely love shooting it. Even more than the Marlin in the same caliber. The biggest difference is that mine is the steel case, not the brass. As a result, if also has a recoil pad...
