I bought my first gun at 51, a SA Loaded 1911 chambered in .45ACP. My wife was 49 and she got the same gun.

My wife and I both have USCCA. We went through a CCW handgun course and the instructor used them. We checked them out and like what we saw.

I have the same dilemma. Everything I have read says to grease. A friend of mine who was is an old war vet and in a previous life was a firearms instructor said he never greased his. Same as you, oil the barrel, dry, and the wipe down everything else.

My wife carries her SA 1911 in .45ACP every day and every where she goes. When she is outside with the horses, she wears a shoulder holster. When we go somewhere she either has it in her GTM purse or on her strong hand hip in a nice 1791 Gunleather holster.

Our LGS has this for a pretty good price as a black Friday sale. I totally get it!!
