    Don't lower the hammer on a live round to store it, either keep it C&L, or mag out clear chamber and then release the hammer under thumb control, unless is going to be store for a long time, like years, C&L is not going to hurt anything on a 1911.

    For SD carry ammo I use only nickel cases, Speer GDs, because the corrosion resistance, very helpful here in South Florida.

    since day one when the Glock 17 was introduced, I said if Glock will make it with metal mags it will get a couple more round in it, then they had to metal lined the mag so they wouldn't span loaded, right there they should have go metal mags, but what do I know.
