    Component Shortages

Interesting article, don't quite agree with it. Just consider this: so far in 2020 there are 5 MILLION first time gun owners. That alone puts an enormous strain on ammunition supplies. Component manufacturers make higher profit from ammo than components, so all their supply goes to ammo and...

    XDm hard on brass

I've put at least 2K rounds through my XDM 10 4.5", everything from weak factory junk to my earth shattering reloads. Haven't noticed that dent, haven't looked for it either. That brass has at least 5 reloads on it and still going strong.

Lead 124g rn are all heavy

Yep, that weight variation is normal unless getting product from the "Big Boys" like SNS Casting or Missouri Bullet Co. Personally, I wouldn't shoot bare lead in 9mm, but have fired thousands of HiTek coated from SNS. You might want to consider investing in a Lewis Lead Remover tool.

Definitive Answer on 45ACP Primer Size

At least 4-5 years now, someone may have a more definitive date.

Definitive Answer on 45ACP Primer Size

I have gotten small and large primers mixed in same box of Federal ammo. Blazer is almost exclusively small primer in their 45 auto ammo. Now, Blazer is making 10mm with small primers. What's next, 44 magnum SP?

Definitive Answer on 45ACP Primer Size

Yep, looks like have to use small pistol magnums and higher charges to equal large primer loads. All part of the fun.

    Reloading coated bullets 9mm Luger/9x19mm

I've loaded a couple tens of thousands HiTek coated 9mm, mainly 125gr. Always used fmj data, never had any problems and exceptional performance at distance. I prefer the 125gr hardcast HiTek coated from SNS casting. Buy by the 3,700 case, try to order 10,000 projectiles of various calibers at a...

Definitive Answer on 45ACP Primer Size

Well maybe, sort of, possibly. Test pistol Ruger SR1911, 5" barrel. 230gr Xtreme RN, COL 1.235". CFE Pistol powder, 6.4grs. At conclusion of test, decided this charge was too light. ES and SD were way too high, plan to rerun test at 6.8grs. 20 shot strings, measured 15' from muzzle, mid 80's...

    10mm SP vs LP

A while back I bought some Blazer 10mm ammo and it had small primers. Finally got around to testing primer size versus velocity. 10 shot strings measured 15' from muzzle, all brass once fired, 155gr Gold Dot bullets seated to 1.25" Data is formatted: Powder, charge weight CCI 500, CCI 550, CCI...

    Brass Tumbler

Used a Frankfort dry tumbler for years. Switched to Frankfort wet tumbler almost 2 years ago, WOW! No more toxic dust, cases look like new, and really no more time than dry tumbling.

Reloading cost vs. factory bought, handgun and rifle

I don't buy into "what's your time worth" debate. If I wasn't reloading, I would be sitting in front of TV getting older and fatter. If I wasn't at the range making empties to reload, I would be sitting in front of TV getting older and fatter. Can't do a lot about getting older, but reloading is...

Check out www.m14forum.com Probably find some good advice there. They helped me a lot when I got M1A about 8 years ago.

Reloading cost vs. factory bought, handgun and rifle

I load mainly for handguns. If I don't load jacketed bullets, I'm loading HiTek coated hard cast. Amazing how much HiTek cuts down on barrel leading and smoke.

Reloading cost vs. factory bought, handgun and rifle

I don't save a penny by reloading, but I get to shoot 4-5 times as much for the same money. Reloading 9mm is definitely cheaper if you do it right. Free range pick up brass, primers by the 5,000 case, 8# jugs of powder, HiTek coated bullets by the case from SNS casting. My last bulk load of 9mm...

Second best .45 acp defensive bullet

Take a look at Zero Bullets 45 Auto 185gr jhp defensive bullet. Reminded me of a Gold Dot when I first saw it, but it's a true jacketed bullet. Zero Bullets makes some good stuff. www.rozedist.com
