Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

Sorry...I didn't read it correctly. EvilElmo, you are correct! It might be cheaper to sell the standard Helcat and get an OSP.

Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

Not very difficult. I did have some difficulty getting the screw out that was holding the optics plate to the Hellcat (Where the red dot mounts), so I took it over to my friendly Master Gunsmith and he had it done, and the red dot mounted, in about three minutes.

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

I checked the Shield and J Point...ended up buying a Riton Optics X3 Tactix MPRD Micro Red Dot. It fits the Hellcat perfectly without any overlap. The MOA is 3 and it doesn't "quite" co-witness with the iron sights. By that I mean that I can see the top half of the front sight against the rear...

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

TiTaN...you might want to review the thread. I've learned a lot from the comments and received good advicefrom the participants. I ended up buying a Riton X3 MPRD Tactix. It was a little cheaper than the Shield and Swampfox...I paid $199 for the manual with a 3 MOA. I have it at my local...

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

Shot my Hellcat for the first time today. It handled well and I used the iron sights as my Riton wasn't zeroed correctly. Having my gunsmith replace the crummy red fiber optic front sight with a proper front night sight and have him zero in the red dot. I'm going to have him smooth the trigger...

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

Roach...you might check for one of my earlier comments (page 10). I had a stuck screw holding the OSP plate in place and had to take it to a gunsmith. After he removed the stuck screw he asked if I'd like him to mount the optic...of course, I said yes. He immediately found that the included...

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

Guy...the gunsmith had to use a socket bit screwdriver to get that screw out also. The small allen that was included with the optic, as you pointed out, didn't have enough torque.

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

I'm glad that Allen Moore was able to handle the glitch. I hope that Riton takes the steps necessary to include the applicable screws.

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

barjohn...after some great advice from Guy Mancuso and you, I decided to purchase a Riton X3 MPRD Tactix. In talking directly with them, it's footprint was advertised as exactly fitting the Shield footprint on my Hellcat. The MOA is 3, a little smaller than I would prefer, but doable/useable...

    Hellcat holsters

Yeah...way back I bought a bunch and the prices have increased out of sight. Fortunately, I have enough 9 mms (for now).😁

    Hellcat holsters

barjohn...talked with Jason at Rainier Arms a few minutes ago. It appears that the Riton Optics X3 Tactix MPRD Micro Red Dot is essentially the same as the Swampfox Sentinel-M, just a little less expensive. It does have an automatic shutoff after 12 hours, which would work for me, as I could...

    Hellcat holsters

That's what I was thinking. I'll talk with them tomorrow, rather than exchange emails. Their "no questions, lifetime warranty" ( if true), says something about the projected quality of their product.

    Hellcat holsters

barjohn...I just checked out the Ranier Arms site and it looks interesting. (They say they are veteran and LEO owned, which gives them a leg up.) I left a message asking if they also had an automatic model in addition to their manual model. If their model fits the Hellcat OSP, as they say, it...

    Hellcat holsters

OK...thanks, I'll take a look. BTW...those holsters on DeSantis and New Pacific looked interesting. I couldn't find an IWB at New Pacifc but the DeSantis non-standard looked good but out-of-stock. Heading over to Ranier Arms.

    Hellcat holsters

The Crossbreed does poke me in the gut a little, depending on how I seat it on my belt...maybe I have too much of it (gut) that is. My wife complains it prints to much for her, so I may take a look at your suggestions, barjohn. Any further recommendations will be appreciated. I'm still waiting...

Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

Thanks again...it's the front sight that sucks...the rear sight on mine is the correct one. I'll look around for an XD replacement and talk with my gun store's gunsmith.

Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

I am waiting for Rocky Brass to get resupplied with the Swampfox Sentinal-A, the red dot optical before I take it out to the range and zero it in. By the way, speaking of sights, if/when you purchase your Hellcat make sure that the front sight is the tritium and luminescent night sight NOT the...

    Hellcat holsters

I tried a WTP (We The People) IWB, found it printed to obviously and was slightly uncomfortable. I am now using that holster in my car, clipped to the steering wheel column. To replace it, I'm currently using an IWB Crossbreed Reckoning at the appendix position. It took about a week to get used...

Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

Guy said that he was getting a Manual Brightness and have posted an extensive, excellent review of his day at the range. I am tending toward an Auto Brighness but they are impossible to find right now...every supplier, including Guy's (Rocky Brass) are out of stock. Apparently you can get one...
