Don’t Make This First-Time Gun Owner Mistake

Nope. I was too busy keeping eyes on little springs and pins that wanted to spring and roll off the kitchen table. Sorry. But the secret for me was keeping everything in place with the skewer, then slowly worrying it out with the pin provided.

Don’t Make This First-Time Gun Owner Mistake

I put an Apex 'upgrade' on a Swock (S&W) Sigma .40. Very reliable, accurate pistol ... but a trigger like a gas pump nozzle. Installation was an exercise in humility. Finally got it done using a bamboo shish kebab skewer, following that with the pin. It locked back after every shot for a while...

Don’t Make This First-Time Gun Owner Mistake

Yeah, no. Not sticking a striker-fire down my pants appendix carry, no matter how good the holster. There are important things down there, at least to me. Which reminds me, that blonde is hot.

    Is the 1911 Too Heavy?

My only regret is the Springfield doesn't have that nice blue Browning finish. The SA has better: grips, sights, less thumb web bitee, no mag disconnect so better trigger, mag drops free, feed ramp (eats anything), actual safety, is at least as accurate ... but it is not blue. Is the 1911 Too Heavy?

I've got a CZ 97B boat anchor, one of the earlier blue boys. I upgraded some things--grips, sights, Wolff spring and steel guide rod. The recoil is very manageable. My first center-fire pistol was a Belgian Hi-power, the 1911's li'l brother. With all its faults, the grip spoiled me. S'pose I'll...

    Happy 4th of July

Not long after Yorktown, when Britain took a break from warring with us, an American visited with an upper class English family, distant relatives. They had one of the new indoor privys, loos, whatever. There was a portrait of George Washington on the wall opposite the seat of repose. "How did...

A Gun for People Who Don’t Carry Guns?

I have several Alabama pocket holsters, one for an XDs .45, another for a micro Hellcat. Had to Dremel it a little to fit the OSP. Good pocket holsters.
