Texas woman shoots and stops armed intruder

There is a contributor here, IIRC, WheelinfHilda, who is in a wheelchair has all sorts of problems..,yet she is attempting to defend herself. I applaud her attitude, and all those who are disabled, for their efforts. Those of us who are able-bodied, or at partially so, have no idea what the...

    AR platforms for hunting

Abut I,d for hiking the hills, but the AR platform has so many caliber options, it is overwhelming. If you can’t find a caliber for what you want to hunt, there is something wrong.

    NORINCO MAKAROV 59 9x18

I have both, in fact several Bulgarians, and a PA 63, which I prefer. More PP than Mak, but very reliable and lighter, thanks to it’s aluminum frame.

    NORINCO MAKAROV 59 9x18

In what way? Maks will, IMO, hold their value. Bulgarians are going for $400 in used condition. Put it on Gun Broker with a fixed price and see what happens.

    NORINCO MAKAROV 59 9x18

Lot more Bulgarian Maks than others. E. German made are supposedly the best, based on reviews when these were all imported.

The Best Handgun Cartridge (and Ammo) for Grizzly Bear Defense

That’s not a knife, this is. Ordered from MartinCutlery in Lubbock. Took 3 months to get to me in the Nam. Great at brush cutting in the jungle, never used it for its intended purchase, but carried her for 9 months. Now reposes in a display case! Randall had a 2 year delivery date…

12 weeks and no gearup rebate!!

I purchased my 10mm with the same package at Sportsman’s Warehouse for a bit less. Out the door in 10 minutes flat. Some special they had. Like the pistol and the 5 mags, two cases and all. M

Lipsey’s Releases the Ruger SP101 Chambered in .327 Federal Magnum

I was interested in the .30 Super Carry for a while until Smith did away with their rebate. Guess I’ll stick with my 7.62x25s.

    Conceal Carry Reciprocity

Simple, the suspect does not, and can not , has no license. Tyrone, having a rather complex history of criminal cases, doesn’t have a license. Willy, on the theft hand, had no record and getting a license, should be easy. Not saying it would happen this way, more the way I hope it would be…

    Conceal Carry Reciprocity

Got so wrapped in drivers, I forgot to relate it to firearms…I qualify under LEISA, yet have no trust in LE in New England, Hawaii, or Colorado. As should others. I do believe a modicum of training should be required, simply because I have seen so many Yahoo’s at the range. Enough training to...

    Conceal Carry Reciprocity

But you forget…they are special?! Sarcasm mode off. I have, in the dim past, arrested numerous illegals for traffic violations. Many had no real driver’s training, and the first thing they did in an accident was flee the scene, mirroring what they did in Mexico. Even while not driving, they...

Lethal Dangers in Extreme Close Quarters Defense

Sorry to say, Hilda, but in a wheelchair, a knife is only usable if the suspect makes a grab for you. Otherwise, you should depend on a firearm, preferably a wheelgun. You are in a conundrum as to defense. If the suspect stays at a distance, i.e. more than 3 feet, you will have to depend on...

    Cool weather options

Here in S. Utah, very low crime rate. I carry my Smith wheelgun Bodyguard in a send in holster in my jackets. Won’t jam and if necessary. I keep my hand in my pocket and can fire through the coat material. Not something I would want to do, but nice to keep my hand on the gun but while an AH...

Gun list of models to avoid

Had an AH try and kill me with a Bryce 380. Was 30 feet away, missed 6’7” me and it jammed after 4! Rounds. One grip was burned/melted from when he had picked it up during the last L.A. riot. Fine piece of zinc. Tried to get the firearm released to me, but no go. FWIW, I did mark him for...

    Modernizing the 6mm-06

For better it worse, most wildcats don’t get a lot of attention. Unless you are a reloader, no ammo available means no interest. I speak from experience…had a 8mm/06. Great round and I reload, so bought it at a good price and kept it. But a non-reloader would have no interest.
