First you're deplorable, then you're a rube, and now you're....

Back in the late 60s, a bunch of us used to go to Rehobeth Beach from Quantico on weekends. Was called Whiskey Beach, back then, for a reason. Those were good times…nowadays I would worry about stepping in a used a presidential diaper.

XDM Elite 10mm 3.8" optics plate question

If you get really concerned, I just bought one w/o the red sight. Trade ya? Dang, I didn’t think that would work! I would contact a Springfield and ask them. Bet you they will send you what you need.

    Gold always good to have

Like some others here, by copper seems to be enclosing lead, for some reason. Unless it is pure and has a strange spire shape to it…very puzzling. Unless vampires are part of the “uprising”, my silver, that which I have, will remain as junk coins. HOWEVER………

    Gold always good to have

In the past, those who had gold and jewels in a calamity went to another country where they were still valuable.

    Gold always good to have

Gold is great…under a “limited” disaster. However, when it is a SHTF situation, “precious metals” are not as valuable, as vital provisions. While someone is willing to trade his corned beef for gold, the trade ratio may not what the gold holder wants or xpects.

How to Build a Survival Kit

Survival stuff tends to depend on where you ntwnd to survive. Eastern woods be a lot different from the AZ desert where I live. Cold vs heat, humid vs dry, etc. etc. Nam was different than the Middle East, Iceland than Panama!

Eyes in the Back of Your Head

Also heard of this and have, on occasion, put googly eyes on my cover, then wore it backwards. Cats are squirrelly, never know what they are going to do…

The New Sig 6.8x51 Sig Spear (We Can Own The NGSW)

There were a lot of us in the Nam that preferred the M-14, and I imagine its use in Germany would have been better than the M-16. The U.S. made NATO buy into the 7.62x51 round then a few years later we abandoned it and made NATO switch again. Is an M-14 heavy…yes. But it was designed to be a...

.32 ACP: The Round that Made the Auto Pistol

Excuse me if you have heard this before…in 1961, I went thru the LAPD Academy and ended up working South L.A.. at the time, the preferred caliber of the residents was the .32, usually a revolver, but occasionally a semi-auto. Took a number of reports on deceased folks because of them. At the...

Montana Outdoors: Back to Basics: Muzzleloaders

To be honest, these are beautiful rifles, but the darn buttplate, especially those that end on a spike on the toe just tear my shoulder apart.

    Another beer drinkers chart

Utah now sells a little stronger beer, but for the real stuff, or the hard stuff, you have to go to the state liquor store. Not all that bad, price wise, but the LDS bishops have been known to park in the liquor store parking lot!

    10mm solution.

Only issue is that I have large holsters, and the grip is a bit short. Doable, but if I can find a 15 rounder, all will be well.

    John Farnam and DTI

I was a Robbery Detective in L.A. in the early 90s. We were always scrutinized by the brass to make sure that our felony filings were “real” felonies, in an attempt to downplay the felony/misdemeanor percentages. Filing D.A.s were the same. “Nope, not a Part One crime on this one!”, file it...

    10mm solution.

Bought the compact model. Accurate and I was very pleased with the trigger pull, substantially better than most other pistols I own!

Anzio Annie — The German Krupp K5 Railway Gun

Biggest the Allie’s had was the 240mm howitzer, with a 360 pound shell. According to Wikipedia its range was 23 clicks, but was considered very accurate, as as the 8 inch howitzer. I can verify the latter’s accuracy at bunker busting.
