The Incredible Story of F-6D Mustang Pilot Elmer Pankratz

    Springfield Armory XD Mod.3 Review

My take on the .40 is that it has a larger frontal surface than a 9. Plus more penetration than a .45. I have pistols in all 3calibers, just prefer what I prefer. When in LE, carried .38s and a Smith 5904, so experience with the .40 & .45 on dangerous game, 2 legged or 4.

    Springfield Armory XD Mod.3 Review

I prefer .40, and would like to see this pistol in that caliber (fat chance of that, I know), or in .45 or 10mm. I have enough 9mm as is. The quality and price are certainly right. For me, just the caliber. I was going to say .30 Super Carry, but don’t like the bonfires in my front yard!

How to Shoot on the Move

I turn 80 in a few months and am about as flexible as a 2x4. Against someone 300 meters away and me with a handgun, I’ll move as best I can. Against a handgun er in range, I think a stationary pose, steadying my aim, would work best.

    Do You Need Disaster Currency?

Gotta wonder about trading ammo to someone who might use that same ammo on you. I know…paranoid thinking and all, but…

Long Range Shooting with Iron Sights

In 1969 we fired the stock M-14 at 500 meters for qualification in the Corps. I fired Expert with a little luck. Two weeks of firing prior to qual. Later I was the Range Officer at USMCAS Yuma and with the M-16, qual was at 300 meters.

Training B-17 Flying Fortress Gunners for Masters of the Air

Good series…but I wish someone would do a decision the medium bombers, I.e. the B-26, A-26, A-20 and B-25 crews. My father had a friend who was a bombardier on a B-26 in the ETO.

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

Sorry about your father at 80 I understand how that can happen. I have used a single stage press for over 40 years, don’t like turret/progressives. All you need are a powder scale and measure; dies, priming tool, powder, primers, powder, bullets and your press. Slow and easy does it.

Concealed Carry Options — Alternative Handgun Concealment for Women

BellaD…what you might want to consider is a “Bullitt” upside down holster. J frame hangs from rig and no tie down. Carry one on and off for decades. Comfortable and well hidden.

reloading questions/advice if you would please?

I would assume that only a small percentage of factory cases are reloaded, so that there is no incentive to produce brass for their own loaded rounds, which is any thicker than necessary. Star line brass is used for reloading, so is thicker. Just an idea. Attached a pic of my dies…think I am...
