    Holster ideas

For leather, Mitch Rosen can't be beat. For Kydex, I like Vedder. You specified "open carry," though. I don't think they have secure options, which you absolutely should have for open carry in public.

    Looking For an Ankle Holster

I was going to strongly recommend the Renegade Cozy Partner, but I guess they are no more. The retention is heavy duty elastic. You don't have to unsnap it. You just pull through. Super well made, very secure and easy to draw fast once you get your pants clear. Wilderness Tactical Products...

    Regrets

Your post really moved me, Mr. Sumpin. I can feel the sincerity and passion behind it. It saddens me, though, that you seem so disillusioned about your service in Vietnam. The people who sent you there may have been a bunch of dirty rotten SOB's, and no doubt you witnessed the horrors and...

The Sig M11-A1 is what I wish I had. I carried a P228 on duty for 18 years or so. Got very...

The Sig M11-A1 is what I wish I had. I carried a P228 on duty for 18 years or so. Got very attached to it, but couldn't take it with me. It's my idea of a "real gun." My EDC is the P239, which is great, but I would like the bigger brother. Now if I only had an extra $1100+ lying around.

    A Short Range Review

I have 2 Taurus 5 shot .38's and I really like them. I did have a problem with one, though. The firing pin return spring would get stuck in a compressed position. This allowed the pin to hang loose and protrude into the cylinder gap, rather than retract, which would prevent closing or...

    Regrets

Many morsels of wisdom I accumulated over the years I got by doing things (or saying things) that were very unwise. Nothing teaches you better than totally blowing it. "By experience we find out a short way by a long wandering." - Roger Ascham

Least And Most Gun Friendly States

I think they have a different way of ranking "gun friendly" than I do. Can't say I think much of their list. They ranked Washington way below California. While we (WA) have slid down the slope a ways in the last 10 years or so, we are still a 2A paradise compared to CA.

    Woke Awakening

I feel like that kid on "The Simpsons." I just point and say, "Ha-Ha!" Those who want to "re-imagine public safety" are finding out that reality wins over imagination every time.

    Police refused restaurant’s service

Thanks for the article. Not much of a surprise from San Francisco. In fact, I'm quite shocked that they apologized! A small glimmer of hope, perhaps. Imagine, if they are "uncomfortable" with the presence of officers' weapons, how "uncomfortable" they would be during an armed robbery!

    Great 2A Author

Great! I have one of his books: Freedmen, The Fourteenth Amendment, and the Right to Bear Arms. Have read some of his law articles. We can thank him for a great deal of the legal scholarship that has breathed life back into the Second Amendment over the last 30 years or so. I second your...

    Michigan School Shooting

Manslaughter means causing someone's death due to some negligent act or omission. That would seem an appropriate charge, depending on what the parents did or didn't do, compared to what they should have done or not done. I have no faith that reporting on the matter will give an accurate...

Coolest gun moment in a movie

Ok. Here's one you guys didn't already list. Chief Brody at the end of Jaws. "Smile, you son of a b.....!" (If I had the slightest clue how to attach a movie clip to my post, I would).

Data Disproves the Fear Of Adhering To The Constitution On Guns

Thus, the expression, "an armed society is a polite society." You are even more evidence of that.

    Sights

I have Ashley Express 24/7 Big Dot Express sights on my Sig P239. They're really good for fast combat accuracy on human sized targets, but not too great if you want pinpoint accuracy. I may as well offer my two cents regarding night sights. Bottom line is I don't think they are worth the...

What do you like to listen to in the vehicle

I love music in the car, everything from ABBA to AC/DC. Audio books for long road trips. "The Boys in the Boat" was a great one. Cant get much worthwhile talk radio in the car around here since Rush passed away. Thanks for the Patrick Stewart idea.
