They prefer to buy from you, bit their offers are low. It is OK if you need to sell, but f you are patient, selling on GB or Gunboards will usually make you more $.

    finally, i got something

Good for you! Retired, finally, at 75, 5 years ago. Keeping busy is the best thing you can do. Way too easy to sit in the LAZboy, have some I know who have done that, and I pity them. In April, I walked the last 200 miles of the Camino de Santiago.. if you do not keep busy, you will either...

    Whatcha Watching?

Tend to watch YouTube stuff. Not funny cat videos, but there is a lot of good, educational stuff out there. Between philosophy and gun stuff, I spend time watching this stuff. A lot better than most of the crap shown on mainstream TV. You can learn a lot there, and I, at 80, enjoy...

    Biden steps down

My Mom passes at 62 from early onset dementia, in 1969. Not just age, but a cognitive test. At 79, I would like to think I have much more cognition than FJB. HELL, I can walk miles, work on detailed schematics and carry on a conversation. As I said, FJB.

    USSS Director Resigns

Who knows? Never happened. The site security agent also needs to be squeezed, he might have interesting things to say, if he lives.

Dems starting to push new social concept to appeal to Gen Zs

Dems will marshall all their resources to get Cackles anointed. Tik Tok is right up their alley to get the 18-20 crowd energized. If the “influencers” say vote for her, the numb nuts will. And the Dems have enough $ to make sure they will say so. This election isn’t over yet. Months to go...

When Your Gun Is Not Enough: Are You Actually Prepared?

I don’t think they ever mentioned the.45 load. Being in the early 70s, I assume standard velocity FMJs.

Best Rifle Scope for Deer Hunting

I am a a westerner,so longer ranges are a norm. The choice tends to depend on how many $$$ you have to spend. I am an old coot and still use the stadia line scopes of the 60-70s. Nostalgia I guess, but they work well for me.

Kubotan: The Ultimate "Unarmed" Self-Defense Tool?

I was retired from LE, 30 years ago. Not by choice. Before the ASP became popular, although I don’t think LAPD adopted it. Never carried a Kuboton, although I knew others who did. To me, if for some reason I could not get to a firearm or knife, I expected my hand to gland training to kick in.

    Hellcat OSP and 147g JHP

I am 30 years out of date, and now carry 124 gran loads. But when LAPD went to 9mm, first went to 88 SPs, then to 147grain bullets, unknown brand, finally settled on 115 grain HPs, I was confused. Only shooting was with the last grain. What they carry now, I have no idea.

    Carrying multiple guns

Carried a S&W Air weight Bodyguard for 23 years as a L.A. cop, 71-94. We were restricted as to what we could carry. Wheelguns only and converted to DAO. Since then, since 1994, I carried a number of autos and wheelguns, but no back-up, except for a knife.

    9mm vs. 40 – Is the .40 Caliber a Better Handgun Cartridge?

My2 cents worth ( miss the cent sign). Carried both a .38 and 9mm as a cop, never a .40. However, later when I worked executive protection, I decided a .40 was more in order. I was impressed with the performance of either the .38 or 9mm when working alone in a security detail. More to the...

    9mm vs. 40 – Is the .40 Caliber a Better Handgun Cartridge?

Iwillchime inherent. As a L.A.cop, starting in the early 70s, I saw the aftermath of a bunch of shootings. Blacks in the south end preferred .32s, while their Latin counterparts seemed to like .38s, or whatever they could get, including sawed-off .22s and single barrel shotguns. There were...

When Your Gun Is Not Enough: Are You Actually Prepared?

Also to be mentioned. In the early 70s, I remember seeing a training re-enactment of a Newport Beach shooting. Officer carried a .45, with 2 spare mags. Answering a 459 there now (burglary) call he saw a 500 pound biker wanabee exiting a door. Fat boy had a MAC 9, but he could not get out...

When Your Gun Is Not Enough: Are You Actually Prepared?

When my department allowed officers to transition to 9mm in the guise of a 5904/Beretta 92, they issued 88 grain soft points, later went to 147 grain HPs. About the time I was retired for injuries they went to 115 grain bullets. Marked suspect for evidence with the last, high shoulder hit...

Could deer hunters with modern day rifles have made a difference at the Alamo?

Well…I have been called a lot worse in my time. But a couple of things to bring to mind. One, I was a Marine Lt., a FO, for my tour in the Nam, discharged as a Captain. Three years in the Reserves as a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer. Riffed out because I had been on active duty and the...

Could deer hunters with modern day rifles have made a difference at the Alamo?

But, I imagine he was hoping for a jump up on his real rank, as had happened to others. BTW, not everyone thinks Custer was an asshole. While I was infantry branch, I knew a number of cav and armor officers. None of them thought so and the cav officers were quick to defend him. I realize...
