The best way to maintain any pistol is to use the time and energy to disassemble/clean/reassemble until you are proficient doing it or don't buy the dang thing in the first place unless you are comfy with a nasty firearm.

Those 10mm Buffalo 220s are where it's at for me. Lots of power right there. In my Longslide it's more of a good shove almost straight back.....not a lot of muzzle rise. I don't own a 357 but have absolutely nothing against the cartridge. Maybe some day I will get one.

I have the 1911 and it's a great little pistol. I haven't counted how many rounds I've put through it but it's been a bunch. Just keep it clean and use hi-vel loads and you should have lots of fun.

I been a meatcutter all my life.....i know about the hand pain.....its horrible some days. Something with easier to handle recoil makes a lot of sense. Very nice pistol and at a good deal as well. Congratulations on your smart purchase and pot up a target or 2 when you have time.
