Maybe no more tax stamp on suppressors?

This was my thought. The $200 doesn't bother me nearly as much as what is being charged for a suppessor......

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

I respect your position and will only say that, in my observations, without boundaries, laws, limits, etc., people actually act very poorly, with little good judgement. The human species is far from an ideal one.

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

BassBob, To somewhat repeat myself, no, I don't consider those to be 'conditions', any more than the need to demonstrate your ability to operate a motor vehicle before you're allowed to endanger the rest of us while driving one. I strongly believe in our right to defend ourselves, but we're...

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

My apologies, but I do not understand what you're trying to say. I'm not sure what relevant competency means, but training is good. I have never seen anything I'd refer to as "govt mandated curriculums", nor would I endorse them. Gun shops/training centers/professionals, etc;, know best how...

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

Call it a right or a privilege, whatever you like, that's splitting hairs. Seems pretty sensible to me that asking that folks who want to carry/wield deadly force on our streets know how to use them.

People losing jobs over Trump remarks.

Where in the world do you find this drivel? I'd like to see some fact checking! Facts matter to thinking folks.

People losing jobs over Trump remarks.

I agree with your thoughts. 1st Amendment and the Constitution are the Apex thoughts here. Regardless of how I feel about the gunman's marksmanship skills, I should be able to say them freely. We're still in America. Having spent a lot of years in corporate America, you should have the sense...

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

I agree with most of your points. I kind-of disagree with this one: "In a perfect world there would be no government registry of personal firearm ownership. Responsible owners would keep their own inventory records." There are a number of states where we can buy and sell firearms to each...

    Is Constitutional Carry a Mistake?

Heck, in most states you have to take a class in order to operate a motorcycle. I don't consider training to be a non-issue.

Do You Have the "Right" Springfield 1911?

I've got a 5" Ronin in .45, which I like a lot. I'm thinking of adding an identical 5" Ronin in 9mm, just to have a 9mm in the mix and I DO like the two tones. I would consider a 4" 9mm, but I believe in Stainless Steel. Less so in Aluminum. I also have a Kimber Pro Carry II (4") for EDC.

    Need some advice food storage

I completely agree with your questioning the sheer quantity of weapons and ammo in the 'real' world. I unintentionally got into a tiff with a guy in a forum when I asked why he 'needed' 100,000 rounds of ammunition. He was offended. To your point, if you last until you've shot 500, you're...

    Need some advice food storage

I don't have an extensive plan, but I have about 3 months or so of freeze dried food and I rotate cases of beans, spam, giant Costco jars of peanut butter, etc., I think in a pinch, I've probably got 6 months worth of food. It's water I worry about. I have a lot of containers, but there will...

    The guns of my childhood

Man, those are some big F'ing rabbits! The gun I remember most from my childhood, aside from the Stevens bolt action .410 (which I still have), was the Thompson that Vic Morrow carried on the "Combat" TV show. The .50 cal on the jeep was pretty cool, too.

    Just Damn

Yeah, I would've thought that 4 or 5 rounds of 000 Buckshot would work in that situation. Maybe they weren't close together as a group. Reloading in that situation could get hairy.. I assume that the OP's point is that the AR has quite a bit more ammo capacity, which is true, but one...

    Am I the only one

I've got supplies enough to 'bug in' for a number of months, assuming I can stockpile enough water early. What I worry about most is; if I have to defend my home I will need to fortify it to some degree. Sandbags stacked up, maybe. Bullets don't stop at siding or windows/doors much. That's...
