Being it is made by EGW I'm sure it's a quality product, but I think I prefer the styling of the Dawson Precision magwell and the way it hooks over the front of the grip instead of leaving the front sort of bare looking.
I do like the smooth surface of the EGW magwell better though than the...
I"m not sure if you're looking for someone with experience with this handgun or if you're looking for one to buy for yourself.
If you're looking to buy check this link out:

You're right of course. A full magazine will affect the play between the slide and frame simply because of the pressure a loaded magazine puts on the slide. When checking the looseness with a loaded magazine in place, the play is negligible. Naturally, unloaded there is more discernable play...
In a way it sounds as if you have won. You have an intelligent wife with good tastes in firearms and husbands, and one that considers the Prodigy as "hers". That's great news.
Now since you no longer have a Prodigy, that should open things up for you to get the Staccato P that you've been...
It's sure nice to have options. There so darn many nice guns out there today it's hard to decide on just one, or a few.
I have to admit even after all of the teething pains and complaints about The Prodigy that's one of the firearms that I'm most impressed with. I can't wait to see what other...
It is a bit confusing on whether the TRP has been discontinued or not, but I think I might have the answer.
The TRP is or was offered in several different variations. Only the variant with the following model number was discontinued. The other variations are still being offered.
DISCONTINUED...
I know we all sometimes get a bit obsessed with trigger weight, I know I have. IMO your trigger weight on your Legion X5 at about 2.5 -2.75 lb range is just about perfect for most uses. Trigger weight really depends on a couple of factors like how the gun will be used and amount of training the...
@ Hamman...I don't know if it's just that everyone is watching movies too much and just wants to be cool and flip the slide release to let the slide go forward and load the next round or what.
The proper way to load a round is to grab the slide, pull it back, and release it or slingshot it. Most...
When Marlin came out with the 1895 in the polished stainless steel and the gray laminate stock I knew I just had to have one. It took quite a while to find one at a decent price but I finally did. Shortly thereafter Marlin came out with their 1895 BDL with a blued finish and a walnut colored...
That's the Swampfox Kentucky Long 2-12 x 44. That's a new addition and I haven't had a chance yet to sight it in. So far I'm impressed. It seems to be a well built scope.
With everyone talking about the Sig X-5, it's easy to get Sig's offerings mixed up since they have more than one X-5. Both are fine pistols but there are differences.
One, the P320 X-5 Legion is a striker fired polymer pistol based on the modular P320 naturally.
The other is the P226 X-5 which...
I can almost definitely see a Staccato in my future. In getting into the 2011 style of pistols I kind of shot myself in the foot by buying the Prodigy. Now that I have it it's hard to justify buying a Staccato, unless I go with a model above the P, and they are crazy expensive. And a P is so...
I've got red dots on several of my pistols but I've never seen one attract dirt like this one. But then most don't have that loaded indicator hole just about a 1/4" away from it.
It's so bad that it's almost a safety hazard. After just 40-50 rounds the glass gets so dirty it's impossible to...
I sort of wanted to keep it all Springfield so I ordered my Prodigy with the Hex Dragonfly red dot. I have had no problems with the red dot but I probably wouldn't do it again. Like I said, I wanted to keep it all SA and since it came with the mounting plate it allowed me to not have to put up...
Thanks. I had thought about something like this and was wondering if it was even possible. At only $60 it's a bargain. Are you satisfied with the work and how is it holding up?
I was also thinking about waiting and seeing if either SA fixes this problem by doing a design revision, or to see if...
I know a lot of people have reported problems with the SA Duramags, but I haven't seen them. I just bought two more 20 round Duramags. I don't see the need to buy the more expensive Staccato or Atlas mags when these work perfectly.
I just took my Prodigy out and I'm now up to 500 rounds without...
I know, it doesn't make much sense does it? I managed to get 4 different versions of the 945 and I guess because they stopped making them I just put them away.
I guess from a collector's point of view it's nice to keep them as new but like you said, they need to be enjoyed.
Since this is a Springfield Armory forum.....

and even though strictly it's not a 1911, it's close enough...Smith & Wesson Performance Center 945 (never fired)
