3 dot night sights with a black silicon cushion on the rear. Trijicon HD are excellent. I like the Novaks on my 1911s. On the 509 Im putting an RMR on it. At the bare minimum, I prefer 3 dot sights over plain black. Black sights are horrible for ghosting you. Especially the front.

Definitely try them. Your gun may pattern better with federal, but the federal and Hornady are all I use for My serious use OO buck. These babies scoot!

It does. The standard Tac14 is 4+1, but the hardwood model they have has a +1 extension installed at the factory.
