    Ruger Vaquero S/A 45

This one is 40 years old, built in 82. Previous owner shot it a lot judging by the carbon buildup I had to remove. Looks almost as good today as the day it was new. Satin stainless takes the abrasions with stride.

    Ruger Vaquero S/A 45

I have 8 stainless Rugers I believe. They really don’t wear out. There are two things you should be aware of. First, the new vaquero cannot handle a tier 3 Ruger load. Don’t try it. Only the large frames can handle those. Second, the vaquero is a polished stainless. You’ll have to be extra...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

I got too many favorites. One day I’ll get a family photo of those. There’s at least 20 of them, single and double action from .22 to the 500 mag. 3”-18” barrels.

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Just bought a stainless Kimber Raptor and another stainless Springfield Loaded. Glutton for punishment I tell ya 😉. Both used, both in great shape. Both $400 or more less than a new one. The Raptor looks new. The Loaded has a couple very small nics but nothing to cry about. Probably 90% or...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

121 guns total in that list. Its a big list. I don't know how many are older listings but I know the majority are new as of the last couple months.

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

With the TRP and the Mil-spec stainless going away, the only option left for a stainless 1911 from Springfield is the Garrison or a CA compliant version before they disappear. With the 2-1 removal from the CA roster, that won't be long. Very disappointed.

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

I’ve been through everything 1911 still being offered by Springfield, looking for my next gun to target. Unfortunately, these will likely be the last Springfield 1911’s I buy for some time. Just not a big fan of the direction the company is taking with the lineup. I have a my Garrisons and...

Springfield Armory’s FIRSTLINE: Discount Program for First Responders

I’ll have to ask my old man if he made any headway on this. I got him in touch with a company on the list but never found out what happened after that.

(Credit Card) Company Says “Let’s Track Suspect Gun Sales”

They can look all they want, overstep and they’ll get sued. I don’t bother with stupid people. I’ll be sure to let them know when it’s over, their money will be buying more guns.

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Got my MetroArms 10mm ordered. $769 shipped. Was pricey considering my .45s were around $550-$600. The only other one I could find was $820 shipped. I had considered a 9mm because they were available $200 cheaper but… I already have 2 1911s in 9mm and only 1 in 10mm (at least that I’m keeping)...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Garrison 9mm came in today. As expected, runs great. 5 test mags run through it without issue. Hoping to get the other on back soon so I can make the final decision on which I’m keeping. Regardless, I ended up with 6 reliable, good looking guns out of this. Stopped and bought 3 packs of Kimber...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Id have to look but I believe they still do. Edit: https://www.springfield-armory.com/1911-series-handguns/1911-mil-spec-handguns/defend-your-legacy-series-1911-mil-spec-45-acp-handgun/ Guess it’s not 100%

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

As guys get older and start having issues with arthritis in their golden years, I’ve witnessed quite a few of them reach a point where racking a semi auto slide either become a challenge or are just plain unable to do it any longer. I know a few that have gone to XDE’s or EZ’s because of it. 9mm...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

2 Garrisons, both in 9mm went back. The Garrison in 45 ran fine without any intervention. 1 Loaded in 45 went back for sights. The other Loaded in 45 needed the sand on the bottom of the slide to operate properly but didn’t have to go back. Did that myself. I know, it’s a long thread, lot to...
