We have a lottery style draw for elk in here in PA too. I went to the Elk Country visitor center in Benezette this weekend for the first time. The elk are so use to people there that they are walking and laying right along the roads. It seems that nothing bothers them. Some very nice bulls...

I don't think they can get a total ban. So they will pick out certain one and try to ban them first like AR's and if they do that then they will go after another kind and so on.

Mine was always on years after years too. Never had a problem with it on a Rem 7600. I hunted with it for around 15 years. Still have it.

Yes I understand that but I don't shoot long distances. I hunt with rifles and keep my shots within 300 yds most are within 100 yds. I mostly hunt in the woods.

Hate to pay more for a scope than the gun I'm putting it on is worth. Some nice scope here.
