    Snub revolvers are still relevant

Nice Bulldog. I have one of the originals and yeah, it can be chippy, but there are much worse that do less.

What are you doing right now??

Same thing I’m usually doing while I’m on here: Wishing I could sleep.

    Concealed carry

In Indiana, we now have Constitutional Carry, so the carry permit (LTCH here- License To Carry Handgun) is no longer required. They will sell you one if you want, to have some paper to show in other states if needed. It’s good for life. Concealed or Open carry are both allowed here. No...

The New Sig 6.8x51 Sig Spear (We Can Own The NGSW)

I have only handled one of these Sigs, and for a brief time. This was at one of the recent NRA conventions, and Sig had one dressed up with the suppressor and Sig scope. It was a pig. I don’t recall the numbers, but it felt heavier than it was. There is weight, and then there is how that...

Lipsey’s Releases the Ruger SP101 Chambered in .327 Federal Magnum

I do like that. I think the SP101 series as a whole is too big and heavy for my needs, but when setup that way, as a woods walking and plain old goofing around gun, it’s just about perfect. I’d probably never put more than a few .327 rounds through one, if any, but it would make a neat .32...

Are You Using the Wrong Rifle Scope?

I didn’t care much for this article either. But I will use this chance to get one of my observations/peeves/gripes out there. Generally, and very generally, I’d say most people pick a scope with too much magnification. This is a straight-wall deer cartridge state (unless hunting on private...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

I haven’t bought anything in a week or more (!) but I have made it to the range several times and got a lot of my accumulated brass sorted, sized, cleaned, etc. That last part is never as fun as shooting or buying, but it sure feels good when it’s done.

Do You Own Too Many Guns?

Like the carry rotation thread, my reply is more or less “it depends”. If your primary firearms interest is self-defense and you bounce around between 150 very different guns, then you might not be doing yourself any favors. Like most here, I have… numerous… guns. I guess my primary leaning...

Carry Gun Rotation: Good or Bad?

I don’t know. A carry “rotation” depends on a lot of things. Carrying five very different guns a week because you can’t make up your mind is one thing. Alternating between a couple of similar guns is another. I used to switch off between 1911s and Browning HiPowers. They work the same...

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

Oh yeah, I left out a couple that see some occasional use. Ruger LCR 9mm. Why 9mm? Because I can practice with it anytime I’m at the range, even if I wasn’t planning to, since I always have 9mm practice ammo along. I don’t always have .38 practice ammo with me, so can’t do the same. S&W...

    Snub revolvers are still relevant

    Snub user here. Just not usually a snub-only user. S&W 642UC and/or a 2” Model 12. I have a thing for Model 12s.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Williams rear peep sight for the Marlin .357 I bought (used) Monday. Ordered a Weaver scope base for it also. I won’t scope it permanently, but want to mount one to do a little testing.

A not-so-great day at the range for Adam Kinzinger

My first thought was to wonder how there weren’t more injuries with the steel that close. Then I realized they must have only hit that steel the one time.

A Deadly Load for the 32 H&R Magnum

I don’t about the Lehigh Defense bullets, but I am a fan of the .32 H&R Mag. I call it my “reloadable .22” when loaded with cast bullets and TiteGroup but it’s more than that. The factory loads are limited by the H&R revolvers it was designed for, so in turn a lot of load data is pretty tame...

    renewed my membership

I belong to two clubs, both outdoors. My local club is 100 yards long, wide enough for only four benches, and no rapid fire (minimum 3 seconds between shots) is allowed. $200/year, and a one-time $50 processing fee. I also belong to a club 62 miles away with a 240-yard rifle range, seven...

    Bought an M1A, Now What?

I got mine in Dec ‘87. I was living NW of Chicago at the time, and drove it over to SA for an upgrade to N.M. configuration. Then I sweated over it for the next few summers shooting Highpower. Wanna cry? I gave $660 for it. And I wasn’t real happy about it because the price wasn’t the...

Lunchtime at a pistol class. Food tastes better on the range.

What are you doing right now??

It’s Saturday in the fall. I’m watching the Georgia Bulldogs. And getting things ready for a class tomorrow (Close Qtrs Handgun). If my hip will allow. I may only be a spectator.
