What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

A followup regarding the 2” model 15. First, obligatory pictures. Second, this gun shoots! I’ve heard and read people say they shoot like a 4” and I mostly laughed it off, but that’s a good way to put it. Fact is, I’ve had it out with my 4” 15 this week, and I would say the 2” shot a...

    Hodgdon Annual Manual

One thing I dislike about the Hodgdon annual manual (AnMan?) is the choice of what cartridges they drop, keep, and add. The .300 Savage disappeared a few years ago, and at first glance of this year's I see the .303 British is gone. Yet they have .17 Hornet and .22 TCM for the 12 people loading...

    Hodgdon Annual Manual

I usually buy one every year, since new powders come and old ones go so often anymore it seems. Besides, it's handy to have the two most recent ones handy, both in the basement with the reloading benches or upstairs within reach of the sofa. I usually balk at the cost of a mere magazine, but...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

I went to a local firearms auction yesterday. Typical for these, most guns went for more then I could buy elsewhere, but the accessories were bargains. Most guns. I did buy a S&W Model 15 with 2" barrel. Eventually they got to the small goodies. I like holsters. I get at least as...

SOCOM looking for new sniper rifle

So they are basically saying they want this: https://www.accuracyinternational.com/axsr-c Setup per their specs with scope and bipod, it should come in under the weight limit with a small but safe margin. Why, its almost as if the specs were written around the rifle. That never happens...

    Taylor's & Company 9mm Single-Action Revolver Review

This gun keeps drawing my attention, and I think that bothers me a little bit. Maybe I feel guilty for even acknowledging a 9mm SA revolver. As a practical matter, the gun makes sense. I tend to treat fixed-sight, SAA-style revolvers as fun guns. One-hand, snap shooting, plinking type...

    Pocket pistols

I've pocket carried two guns a lot; S&W 442 and Kahr PM9 Covert*. I got a Seecamp LWS-32 a couple of years ago. It hasn't been that long since those brought a premium, so when production caught up to where they were selling for less than retail, I guess I had to have one for posterity. I...

    S&W New Product announcement Jan. 22 2024

My stomach already turns when I see "Hillary" and "hole" in the same sentence, and here you go and add "smooth".

    Kahr X9

OK, I like that. I only have one Kahr, a P9 Covert I've had for several years, but it's been trouble-free. I'd try a double stack one after it has been out a bit.

    22 LR GOAT

If it's the GOAT, why does it need a bunch of aftermarket replacement parts? I never understood the mad love for the 10/22. I like them OK, but never felt they were superior at anything. As already posted, I like the Browning takedown auto, the Winchester 52, the CZ 452/455/457, and others more.

    Smith 25-5

I bought myself a 4" 25-5 as a college graduation present. I loved the idea of a big fat lead slug moving at a speed allowing very controllable recoil. Nice DA trigger; nicer SA trigger. Beautiful bluing. But it is an N-frame and N-frames feel huge to me. I tried carrying it for quite a...

    Coolest gun around

I have had a SCAR 17 for eleven years now, and it is probably my favorite rifle. It is definitely my favorite semiauto .308. I've had all the usual suspects of .308 semiautos, and it shoots as well or better than any. It seems like new owners replace the trigger with a Giessle right away...
