    Springfield Prodigy Slide Release

I’ve been waiting for a couple months for 10-8 performance to get some black ones in. Join the email list. It looks like the stainless one is available now.

Springfield Prodigy Torture Test: Did It Survive 10K Rounds?

At this point, call SA and tell them your issue, they’ll fix/replace the mag.

    EGW Prodigy Magwell

Interesting.. I just put their ignition kit in mine, very nice quality parts. I picked up a stacatto gen 2 mag well for my prodigy. It take a couple light hammer raps on and off, but no issue otherwise.

    Prodigy 5in w/HEX Dragonfly

I have a Holosun 407c on my 4.25 prodigy, the LCI is not an issue keeping that glass clean…. 150 to 200 round range sessions and I don’t have any noticable film/dirt/powder on mine. My front fiber fell out as well after I burned it once as it was loose, SA customer service is sending me some I...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Yeah, me too. Prodigy is my first and only 1911 style pistol. I really enjoy it. My wife now also considers it “hers”…lol, I can’t win. I got into it because I didn’t initially want to get into Stacatto priced as my first 1911/2011 style. Now… I’m hooked…lol. I thought 1911 work was this...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Amen RLB. As mentioned (this is not directed towards you, just overall forum readers) I have said my X5, Prodigy and Canik are Target/Range guns. I am 1000% with you, I do not feel confident in any of them, due to trigger weight, for EDC. I have a bone stock P320X Carry for that duty and a...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

While I don’t want to regurgitate other pistols in this thread again… I know my gauge and trigger weight is as spot on as it can be without a very expensive gauge and a jig and some more white coat, scientific evidence…:) My Legion X5, with Sig Armor’s comp kit and light springs as well as an X5...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Good question. Slow and deliberate, the same way I pull the trigger when focusing on target. It’s the same slow and deliberate way I picked a 5lb weight off the counter to make sure the gauge was accurate. If I pull fast, it will shave a little off the weight, I see no value there. On the...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

In keeping with the Prodigy spirit…:) Just put an EGW ignition kit in mine. New mainspring (17#), sear, disconnector, hammer and sear spring, after a few adjustments, a nice, clean, crisp 2.5LB. Safety checked the manual safety, grip safety, disconnector…and a few fast racks with the trigger...

Springfield Prodigy Torture Test: Did It Survive 10K Rounds?

5 minute phone call (always call…don’t email) Serial number, my information, what happened, what kind/type of ammo… What email to send the RMA tag to.. Really that simple. Had it in 10 minutes. Had it back in less than 10 business days.

Springfield Prodigy Torture Test: Did It Survive 10K Rounds?

Yep, exactly what was done. I’ve seen several other instances of invoice/work orders similar to mine. For my example: Reamed and polished Chamber Polished Barrel ramp Tuned extractor replaced sear spring checked all mags (sent in 2 17 round, 3 20 round) That was mid December. Been running on...

    Disassemble Prodigy Thumb Safety

They’re a PITA…but they get easier. I’ve found it easiest way to get them removed is from the fully cocked position, press them down just a hair, like a mm or two.

Keeping up with the Prodigy’s… Now it’s time to tinker. Ordered up an EGW ignition kit, an additional 17lb main spring (kit comes with 19) and an ISMI Flat wound recoil spring 12#. I’ve always liked the quality of ISMI. Gonna see how good I can get the trigger to feel/break. I’m shooting for...

Pistol Cleaning (Solvent, Lubricate, brushes, scrubs)

Nope. but he did great in an altercation with a prostitute back in 2009…that, was all over the news. He’s still alive.

Pistol Cleaning (Solvent, Lubricate, brushes, scrubs)

But wait….there’s more…. As long as he’s not including a shake weight with it for 19.99…

Pistol Cleaning (Solvent, Lubricate, brushes, scrubs)

I have a whole work bench full of different oils, grease and cleaners/scubbers. I used to clean mine after every range trip. I enjoy cleaning them, it’s peaceful…get some music going in the garage and zone out for a couple hours. Now, every 3-4 range trips. My SigP320 and Canik, I don’t oil or...

So…what I‘m reading is…continue posting Pro Rival S comments, include pictures, targets and stories.. got it. Check. LOL. Stuart, mounting an optic….make sure you use the right screws. That was my biggest challenge. I “misplaced” the right ones, use ones that came with the sight and I knew...

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

So not to add fuel, to fire or friendly board banter… :) I believe some people just have the ability to shoot anything and do it well. I was deep into Archery prior to getting deep into pistols..and there are several top name pros that switch companies. Usually…it’s follow the money. But, you...
