Carrying a full size handgun? Do you do IWB or OWB?

Almost all the time in a IWB T&T Gunleater Mike's Special. It's a VMII clone that is a little lighter, sits a little lower, and to me a slightly better cant. On a VERY rare winter day where I do a lot of driving and I want to feel like Mike Hammer, if you don't know who that is you should be...

What knives do you daily carry?

I have various CRKT assisted opening knives from 2 1/2" to 4" that I rotate. I actually have considerable fixed blade knives including usable Bowie and fun fantasy knives.

    EDC at Home

When I come home my current EDC goes on the cocktail table where I watch TV. In the bedroom there is a CZ Phantom 18+1 with a laser on the nighttable along with a Mossberg tactical 12 gauge in the closet. A box in the kitchen has my P365 in it. So while I don't carry at home one is always nearby.

9mm — Is it great or does it suck?

To agree with many shot placement is paramount. Plus unlike TV very few handgun rounds are in the "one shot stop" realm. Many tests show that with good ammo there is not a huge difference between calibers for self defense with handguns. I shoot all calibers but since I don't shoot in competition...

    Best way to conceal carry

As a big guy, overweight, I still manage to carry a normal firearm IWB in a leather holster. Granted I always have a very loose shirt and wear the holster at about 2:00. By "normal" I mean 90% of the time 1 of 4 H&K's. As an aside to carrying with one NOT in the chamber. This of course is a...

    Hellcat EDC?

The P365 and Hellcat are very similar. My P365 fits in all the holsters that I had for my Kahr PM9. I did not spend a lot on holsters since it was not an EDC but Gunners Alley sells a reasonably priced Don Hume leather selection. For pocket carry I like the DeSantis Superfly.

    Recoil Reduction System

I use STI Recoil Master guide rods on all my 5" 1911's and think they are great. They mitigate recoil and make racking the slide easier. They are also available for Commander sized Bull barrel but for some reason not other Commanders. I believe STI ships all there guns with them. Most sub...

    Springfield Armory SAINT Pistol 5.56mm

I recently bought the saint AR Pistol and it has been a great gun. BTW . . Only $750 on Grab A Gun with $8.00 shipping. I put an inexpensive sight ($150) on it. Now I have only shot it at an indoor range so far, 25 yards, and I am 70 years old. That said if I shoot slow I can group shots the...

    Your Best Home Defense Gun?

My bedside handgun is a CZ Phantom 18+1 rounds with Remington JHPs and laser. Also in a closet is a Mossberg 500. The CZ is crazy accurate, reliable, and the laser just an added bonus. It is a little too large for carry so that goes to 90% of the time to one of 4 H&K's. Leaving an occasional...

    Hellcat Size

I have the P365 and it is a great gun. Very easy to shoot. From other people I have been told the trigger is slightly better than the Hellcat's. I use the 12 round mag all the time. It replaced my Kahr PM9 for occasional use and fits in all my old Kahr holsters nicely. They both are so light...

    Pistol Magazine Loaders

Another YES for Uplula. I bought one after breaking two cheap ones on my Sig P365. It also works great on 9mm 1911 mags which besides being difficult to load to capacity always seem to have sharp edges.

What do you currently use for EDC

    I usually rotate one of 4 H&K's: P30 .40, P30sk 9mm, P2000 .40, P2000sk .40 all in T&T Gunleather IWB holsters. Occasionally I will carry a Dan Wesson Bobtail .45 or Sig P365.

    XDm For USPSA Use

I am not familiar with Powder River but when I worked on my M&P with mag extensions, new sights for USPSA Limited the Apex trigger was great.

    Best Beginner’s 9mm?

I will disagree on a sub compact not being a good choice. One of my favorite guns is a H&K P30sk. The grip is so comfortable that it is easy to control the recoil. While I like the LEM trigger I realize it is not for everyone and the DA/SA is an excellent choice. For those having trouble racking...

    Is 5.56 dying?

I think it will be here a L O N G time. There are just too many guns using that ammo and too many that will stockpile it. Just look at the AK and the while AR's are vastly more popular these days ammo for the AK is readily available and inexpensive.
