Extractor question on garrison 1911 9mm

From the manual for the Beretta Bobcat page 22: NOTE: It is important that a weapon be kept clean and properly oiled to insure perfect function but weapons are often "worn out" or damaged more by unnecessary and excessive degree of disassembly and assembly rather than actual shooting. In the...

    Suggests banning 9mm weapons

The bullet that sent Mr Reagan to the hospital entered under his arm and may have broken a rib (personally I think his SS man did that stuffing him into the car) then punctured a lung and lodged about an inch from his heart. The interesting thing is, this was a ricochet off the unbreakable...

    Hellcat Pro going in Battery

I'm not an expert on modern pistols by a darned sight, but the Hellcat, in my opinion, is one of the best semi automatic pistols ever made. It's one of only two I ever had (or even fired) with zero malfunctions in operation, even shooting it with a limp wrist. I was shooting it like a dueling...

    Suggests banning 9mm weapons

Sarah Brady is the widow of Jim Brady, the agent shot in the head when that robot from Texas tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan. There were endless loops on the tv of him bleeding from the head, people all around, the graboids recruited his wife and here she still is. The gun used was a .22...

    Suggests banning 9mm weapons

Since 56% of the guns sold in America are 9s, this nattering puppet just touched a political 'third rail.' One thing, if history is our guide the people will respond to this buffoonery by hoarding all the 9mm ammo they can find. If you're running low, now would be a good time to pick some up-...

Fixed Blade or Hatchet? If You Can Only Choose One

I have a custom forged Damascus steel tomahawk I put together years ago. (I bought and fitted the handle.) It's fun but I wouldn't want to skin a rabbit with it. I throw it at trees. I always carry a knife whether the tomahawk is with me or not.

    Colt’s New .22 Revolver…King Cobra Target

As a revolver guy I find that thing to be sort of repulsive. A zinc frame.. I appreciate you posting the review of it, it was an entertaining read with lines like this: Speaking of the .22 Mag., the gun shot about 5 inches low at 10 yards... The .22 Mag. option allows the Sidekick to do...

    Colt’s New .22 Revolver…King Cobra Target

Dry firing isn't good for any gun. I was surprised at that part, too. Especially (very expensive, brand new) rimfires. Some kid dry fired that Charter in the pic I posted like it was a cap gun. After I told him not to. Braim danaged yute. It just marred the bluing as far as I can tell...

    Colt’s New .22 Revolver…King Cobra Target

Here's my 1980s version Charter Arms Pathfinder .22 WMR. I like .22 revolvers because they are handy and small. This one weighs 19 ounces and drops into a hip pocket for hiking. The big Colt looks great, but it is quite a chunk of steel for a .22.

    My XDS45 Mod2 Issue

The recoil spring also helps slow down the slide during extraction so its being weakened might lead to brass flying over to the next county, then lacking force to reliably load the next round.

    New .22 Mag Semi-Auto Pistol

I have the same Henry, I bet. I put a cheap scope on it and it's a great little plinker. You should try some Armscor ammo. It shoots groups you can cover with a quarter at 50. I think .22WMR really likes a rifle barrel, but in pistols it ain't too bad, if a little loud.

    Understanding the Hellcat U-Dot Sights

If you have irons (you don't have to have them with a red dot), and you use those to line up the target then the dot will in fact be be right behind your front sight. That's right. That's what I said. The dot just makes shooting simpler, rather than aligning both sights and the target, just...

    Understanding the Hellcat U-Dot Sights

The dot can be anywhere on the glass and that is pretty much where you'll hit. I'm afraid I don't agree. The gun shoots where it shoots. Moving the dot around to a more convenient position is not going to change the point of impact. On my Hellcat the point of impact (at close range) was right...

    Impressive Performance from "Cheap" Guns?

I once bought a Star PD for $75, it shoots just fine, gave it to one of my boys. I also fall into the poor boy category and all my guns are 'budget' to some people. I don't buy any custom masterpieces or collectors' items. I buy shooters. Some of them became valuable after I had them 20 years...
