Here's my 1980s version Charter Arms Pathfinder .22 WMR. I like .22 revolvers because they are handy and small. This one weighs 19 ounces and drops into a hip pocket for hiking. The big Colt looks great, but it is quite a chunk of steel for a .22.

The recoil spring also helps slow down the slide during extraction so its being weakened might lead to brass flying over to the next county, then lacking force to reliably load the next round.
