    Hellcat #2 trigger heavier than Hellcat #1 . . . advice needed

My gun had a 2nd generation trigger and still had a very heavy pull. I could feel flex in the plastic parts so I put an apex trigger in it and it is a couple pounds lighter, quite a bit smoother and more consistent, and breaks cleaner with a positive reset. It's still about 6 pounds so not a...

    The Venerable Beretta 21A Bobcat

My new stainless Bobcat .22 came in today. Took it out of the box and the stupid barrel wouldn't pop up. After playing with it for a few times it started working. It doesn't matter how much I spend or how hard I try, every new gun needs a little lovin before it will work for me. The Bobcat is...

Smith and Wesson CSX – Is it Really the New Chief’s Special?

All steel- weighs 19.5 ounces.. hmm The reviewer never said how long the barrel is, 3" I suppose. You need a punch to knockout the slide release.. <Quiet Boo> Seems like a nice gun but I have resistance to S&W semi autos from way back. I have one now that I took in a trade, it works but it...

Range Report: SIG P365XL Spectre — Battle Worn

Battle wear finish damage is cool if it's genuine, just damage if it isn't. I know a guitar player that deliberately 'aged' a brand new guitar because the greats treasure their old beaters with a million road miles on them. SRV's old #1 had fire damage along with chunks knocked out, a real mess...

What would you recommend to a non-gun person for concealed carry?

non-gun person I have taught several totally non-gun ladies how to basically shoot and handle revolvers so I will always revert to my old ways and recommend a .38 special with semi-wadcutters. Soft report and recoil, fun at the range, non-intimidating and pretty safe for a newbie to learn...

Hellcat Pro Awarded Esteemed Law Enforcement Endorsement

“The Hellcat Pro performed well and was fun to shoot, especially when I installed the red dot on it.” This is my take on the RDP. Is it really necessary to have a comp and red dot on it? Not really. Is it more fun at the range? Most definitely. The Pro has a 3.7" barrel. I field stripped the...

History of the East German Makarov

An East German Makarov was the first small semi-auto pistol I could shoot well. You can get a fine bead with the fine blade sight, sharp notch and the fixed barrel keeps things lined up. I sold mine but have tried to buy it back twice. The dirty rat won't come off it. ;)

Californians Are Running Out of Handguns the State Will Allow Them to Purchase (Legally)

Can Californians hit the road and go to a friendlier state to purchase a new gun? If they can, the law is for nought and California will lose out on a lot of tax money. They should first make sure all the gang bangers' guns are legal. If that mess got cleaned up gun control wouldn't seem too...

    The Venerable Beretta 21A Bobcat

Old Mixup98's review of a Henry .44 carbine was so impressive I bought one of those. It has a Skinner receiver peep, taller front post and a cool sling with ammo loops now. It turned out to be one of my favorite rifles. Here it is-

    The Venerable Beretta 21A Bobcat

Yeah, I like that system for a little gun. I guess you have to keep the chamber clean for reliable operation. If I were to carry one I'd need another magazine or two. They only include one.

    The Venerable Beretta 21A Bobcat

I like the tip up barrel with no extractor. You can clear it in a few seconds without much effort and the gun is inherently safe when the barrel is tipped, similar to having the slide locked back on other pistols. The recoil springs are symmetrical, one on each side for reliability. Field...

    The Venerable Beretta 21A Bobcat

Among mouse guns this mean little .22 always caught my eye. Hellcat... Bobcat... so many felines.. It isn't perfect but it would get the job done most of the time. It has passed the test of time and has some unique design features. Take a look ;) I think I might need one of these in blue...

    DON’T GET OUTED!

I don't habitually carry, but if your state has legal open carry, and legal concealed carry, would some old lady picking up on your hideout get you in trouble with them fuzz? I can't see why it would. Now dangling the wonder worm trolling for bites, I can see that getting you into hot water.

Hex Wasp - Anyone’s randomly stop working?

My original Wasp, which still works after 8 months, never showed the entire front sight. The top 50-60% of it is visible which is enough to draw a bead. I noticed their graphic showed more, but as long as it worked didn't complain.

'Utes Criminal Careers Cut Short in PA

More and more people are carrying guns these days. Some of these young criminals are going to find out robbing people is not as easy as it once was. They are the reason so many are hitting up the gun shops. I'm sorry for the man that had to shoot them, he's probably a regular Joe who is all...

Does Trigger Control Matter for Self-Defense?

The day you can buy a gun with a thought activated solenoid powered trigger is the day that trigger control won't matter. Be careful not to think the wrong thought at the wrong time, though. Everything matters. Safety First.
