LGS manager says…hold off on SA-35

It’s a local gun store that also has a range and gunsmith business. They sell a lot of hardware but that’s not their only business.

LGS manager says…hold off on SA-35

Agreed. He didn’t have to mentioned it, and didn’t try to pivot to “hey, how about this new Glock 17” or anything like that.

LGS manager says…hold off on SA-35

No, he didn’t say the units he sold had issues. I asked if he had the SA-35 in stock, and he told me no, that he’d only seen 2 despite having back orders for 50 of them, and then he mentioned to me that holding off may be a good idea in any event.

LGS manager says…hold off on SA-35

Hi everyone, was offline for a couple of days. No, I asked him if he had any SA-35s in stock. He responded as mentioned and went on with his other business.

LGS manager says…hold off on SA-35

Went into my LGS today, a retail outlet that stocks and sells many Springfield Armory products, and the manager told me point blank not to buy the SA-35 due to extractor issues. He said they’ve had 50 units on back order and only actually received 2 units since release. But it surprised me that...

First Look: Springfield Armory SA-35 9mm

Been setting alerts and checking daily at every legitimate online retailer and LGS. Have not seen a single SA-35 for sale anywhere, other than the price gouging auction type sites. What’s the point of “releasing” a product in October that no one can actually buy for going on 3 months now?

Generally, how long before the second generation firearm issued?

I usually put at least 200 rounds through a new gun the first time I shoot it. Getting to 800 rounds would probably take 2-3 months. Right now you can’t even find a SA-35 for sale. I was wondering if they found an issue and were fixing before going full bore with inventory.

    Best Hellcat Ammo?

Why 115gr? Higher velocity? My concern is penetration when needed, like through a car window etc.

    My next gun...

I love my P365XL. Have a Holosun 507K on mine, same as my Hellcat.

    Best Hellcat Ammo?

Interesting stuff. They used an M&P9C which I think has a 3.6” barrel, so not totally analogous to the Hellcat, but is to my P365XL. I’ve always used standard pressure rounds, but also never had to fire at anyone in self defense.

    Best Hellcat Ammo?

I know this is an old post, but was curious what you use in your EDC. I agree with you, and with optics on my Hellcat and P365 that I felt are more sensitive to recoil, I use standard pressure 124gr HST, Speer Gold Dot, or Sig V-Crown. The conventional wisdom is a short barrel needs the added...

    My next gun...

Thinking about a revolver or maybe the SA-35 Hi Power when available.

    Thinking about a “wheel gun”

It’s not an absolute edict to myself, but getting a revolver is a whim for use at the range. I don’t need one, and so not looking to add to the cost and storage of another type of ammo. I keep a stock of 9mm and .45 ACP, so grabbing 100 rounds to use with a revolver isn’t a big deal. Honestly...

    Thinking about a “wheel gun”

Thanks. Was actually looking at one online. Helps to get feedback from owners since otherwise to me it’s all just a “pig in a poke.”

    Thinking about a “wheel gun”

The one type of handgun I’ve never owned or fired is a revolver. Just never saw the need, especially given they usually are chambered in a legacy caliber like .38 special or .357 magnum, and I’m not eager to buy/stock new types of ammo. Thinking about a wheel gun now. Can anyone recommend a...

Does your edc have a wml?

I’m a member on some Facebook groups and one of them is mostly younger owners of Sig P365XL (I have one of them along with my Hellcat for carry). Many post their cerakoted and otherwise jazzed up P365XLs, many with WMLs on them. I got shouted down a couple of weeks ago for daring to ask why...

    SA-35 Review

I think the issue is that, at least with the Garand Thumb review, he only hit the extractor problem at around 800 rounds. Not many people have the SA-35, and those that do are unlikely to have fired 800 rounds through it yet. I’m going to wait until there’s a larger sample size.

    15rd hellcat mag

I bought 15 round mags, and got 15 round mags. They were packaged like most other mags. No idea what the OP was expecting.

    SA-35 Review

Was just watching it and going to post here, and saw you beat me to it. Hoping it’s a low serial number, early manufacturing issue. But definitely may give me pause to cool my jets and wait a few months.

    Win white box - Caution

Yikes, just went through a few hundred rounds of 230 gr WWB in my Mil Spec. Is it possible they just had the wrong brass cases or were those actually +P in the wrong box?
