A serious message for and about us older folks

Thanks for sharing. A bout with cancer 3 years ago made me stop, look around, and reevaluate my own priorities. I made some personal changes as a result. Best wishes. 🙂

Training with a 22, not your carry gun

I’m not knocking anyone who trains with .22, but for me, I prefer to train with the actual firearms that I use for carry and home defense. I’ve had no issues getting ammo over the last year or so. Was it more expensive? Sure. But supply has always been there, and I’m able to absorb the cost. I...

What Is Springfield Armory Up To Now?

Why the M1A leaning against the workbench? 🤔

Training with a 22, not your carry gun

Yikes. Could carry an Airsoft too, but wouldn’t recommend it. 😁

Training with a 22, not your carry gun

I get the ability to train without spending money on more expensive ammo, but I think you also need to be sure you’re training with real world scenarios, including recoil, capacity, possible malfunctions, etc. If you just want to practice drawing from a holster or other non-live fire...

What Is Springfield Armory Up To Now?

I would buy one immediately, especially if they chambered it in .308 WIN like the M1A. Always wanted an M1 but never wanted to mess with finding M2 ball or other suitable .30-06 ammo.

Does your edc have a wml?

Nope no weapon mounted light. Have a tactical flashlight in the car and on the night stand at home. I’ve never wanted my trigger finger to have to worry about anything else. Messing with a light switch is just asking for trouble IMO.

    EDC &CCW

I’m not a lawyer (and didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either), but I am optimistic that the SCOTUS may start knocking down these arbitrary laws from states like CA and NY. They have cases on the docket this year that may do just that. There is no statistical or logical rational...

Is the 1911 Dangerous to Carry?

In fairness though, that’s probably more because the largest percentage of cops carry Glocks as their duty weapon, and cops handle their loaded weapon more than anyone else. Bottom line…no matter how safe you think you are, you’re human, and humans make mistakes. Personally, I like having a...

Is the 1911 Dangerous to Carry?

I wouldn’t be concerned about the safety of a 1911, more about the capacity and weight. And interesting that some of the same folks who tell us how unsafe carrying a pistol with a manual safety is (because I might freak out and forgot about it, and in the split second that it takes for my thumb...

Sold My Hellcat! Got A P365 XL Romeo Zero

Congrats on the P365XL. I have both, each with a Holosun 507K. Both great choices.

    In your opinion

Could be. Pew Research and NSSF have both put out numbers that show more rifles than shotguns, but not sure how ownership breaks down. I can speak for myself…I own a few modern sporting rifles (not just AR-15s) but have zero need or use for a shotgun. I don’t hunt and wouldn’t use a shotgun for...

    In your opinion

I believe the firearm type most owned by Americans is the semi auto modern sporting rifle. There are estimated to be 30 million AR-15s alone in the US, and that could be a low estimate. I don’t think the number of shotguns even reaches 20 million.

    What's Your EDC, PLEASE VOTE

In my humble opinion, 9mm is the near perfect combination of capacity, velocity/stopping power, price, availability, and size.

Where were you 20 years ago this morning?

I was in Springfield, MA about halfway between NYC and Boston, working on a consulting gig for the company I’ve worked for the last 22 years. Springfield was about 90 miles from my home when I lived in MA. I’m a native New Yorker, but my wife is a native New Englander, and we lived outside...
