I agree with the what works for you crowd-what works for one person does not always hold true for others. I have 4 AR'S and have a Vortex on one-A Nikon on another-A Monstrom on one and Vortex on another.

I replaced my EMP 4-40 guide rod with a Wilson Combat flat wire recoil kit-makes it much simpler for field stripping-no tool needed.

I also agree with your surmise-for myself I can manage 8 or 9 very close together rounds out of any of my 1911's but have a devil of a time with a revolver in DA mode.

When it comes to magazine extensions or base pads they are not universal. You can get the magazine's with pads just order the 10 round EMP4 magazines. Most all of the parts are EMP specific due to it's smaller frame size that was engineered for 9mm and S&W .40 If you want spare parts I have...

They are all good choices that most of us already employ- As far as grips go I don't understand how some have the very shiny type grips on their 1911's-I couldn't hold onto one of those.
