    Considering my first deer rifle

That's a poorly written statute, to be sure. I read it as saying anything .35 caliber and over up to .50 caliber is legal during youth hunts, disabled hunts, and the two shotgun seasons. I don't see anything in there about regular rifle season. Maybe there isn't one. Me, if those...

    Handloading for the .338 Lapua

That's part of why I was initially sold on the RPR, and there's still a lot I dig about it. The factory blueprinted action and the 30 inch barrel, along with that killer chassis, sold me on the Savage. Now to find the proper optics for it! I can't imagine I'm going to need anything more than...

    Handloading for the .338 Lapua

The Savage Elite Precision. I looked at Ruger and Christensen but I got a good recommendation from TEXASforLIFE that started pushing me that way. I finally got to handle the Savage and like it. The Ruger was tied with Christensen for second. I found a bunch of large rifle magnum primers last...

    Handloading for the .338 Lapua

What powders have worked best for you handloading .338 Lapua? I just ordered a rifle and plan to start ordering components as I can find them.

    Thinking about a “wheel gun”

Perhaps this is a silly thought: could it be because the 10mm is a large primer and .40 is small? Does Ruger use a different pin on the 10mm GP100 than on the .357 GP100? If not, then primer size shouldn't be an issue and I have no idea.

    Acquisto

Then you're doing well. I'm mostly Scandinavian but their cuisine is not something to brag about so I learned to make food in line with my Italian heritage.

    Acquisto

I have a good bit of blood from the old country, too. Also, some good Italian recipes.

    My pickup for today, 1/21/22...

Nice one! I just put in an order for a Savage 110 Elite Precision. Itll be a bit before I can use it but it'll be fun when I can pick up a good bipod and glass, along with the stupidly expensive .338 Lapua ammunition.

    Acquisto

Well, if I needed a reason to learn Italian along with Spanish, there it is.

    Thinking about a “wheel gun”

I gave a GP100 a go. I can't say I like that revolver. The results at 20 yards were very comparable to my 686 with 158 .38 special, "normal" 158 gr .357, and Buffalo Bore 180gr hardcasts. I think I need one. I love my Smith but Ruger's reputation for making their revolvers absolute tanks is...

A good day with my cousin and his son

His dad can do that. I'll just get them to the range from time to time.

A good day with my cousin and his son

My cousin and I took his son to the rifle range yesterday. It was the kid's first trip and he was definitely excited; he'd been waiting for it a long time. He's nine years old and on the mild end of the autism spectrum so we watched him like a hawk the entire time. He was incredibly well...

Springfield XD-M 10mm: Not New, but Still a Classic

I love mine. I'm pretty happy I got my 5.25 before SA discontinued them.

The Hellion bullpup thread [HS Produkt VHS-(K)3]

I'll pass on it. I have an AR-10, beyond that I'm more of a precision rifle guy.

What Does A Barrel's Twist Rate Mean...

I can see that being a reasonable theory. Faster twist would mean more time in contact with the ID of the barrel and more friction. I can't speak to the amount that actually matters.

    Damn good news!

I think a person who thinks rationally and respects rights, responsibilities, and evidence would be great. DC sucks a lot right now.

    Damn good news!

Oh you, making light of my political leanings :) Nah, I've thought running for something in a few years, as I think a person with a functioning brain would be a good thing in Washington, but for now I'm just a boring old lawyer.

    Damn good news!

Oh, very single. I unfortunately had to split with a good woman over the weekend. Thanks.
