    Elevated lead level

When I was active as a police firearms instructor and avid reloader it was recommended that our lead levels be checked every six months. One fellow firearms instructor who also reloaded had to give up shooting and reloading for a few months due to a high lead level in his blood. After that I...

The Truth About Brass vs. Steel

I will stick to brass in most of my guns. I do use some steel in my SKS and have had pretty good luck with it. I have had poor luck with steel in the rest of my firearms.

    10 Best .45 ACP Pistols (That Aren’t 1911s)

I have an AMT Hardballer that I love. Also have .45 S&W Shield, Glock 30 and a Blackhawk Bisley 45 LC/45 ACP. So as you can see the .45 ACP is one of my favorite calibers. Never have owned a Hi-Point and never will. :)

    I think I'm done with Cabela's

Cabellas lost two firearm sales doing the same thing to me a couple of years ago. Still stop in a couple times a year to get ammo or reloading supplies if I can not find it elsewhere. I look elsewhere for my firearms purchases.

    My next gun...

As I have indicated in another thread the new Springfield Arms compact in 10 MM has really peaked my interest. Not really sure I have interest in anything else unless it would be another single action Ruger Vaquero in 45 Long Colt. Pretty well set on everything else. (For now at least!) :D

    Proof of ownership

Here in Michigan the state has records of ownership on handguns as you have to have a purchase permit and had to take them to police station or sheriff office with 10 days or purchase. Now it you have a Concealed Pistol License you can just fill out a three part form, the seller get one, you...

Introducing "The Armory Life Presents: THE 10MM" digital magazine

This does sound like an interesting development. Might have to think about a new member for the collection. Hope my financial adviser isn't looking. Nope I am safe she is in the kitchen. 😁

What makes a deer rifle 4x power scope the best scope?

I agree that when hunting in the woods that a 4x scope is adequate when shots are a maximum of 150yards. I usually hunt in open fields where longer shots are possible. I usually use rifles with a little more magnification especially with these old eyes. Most of my rifles have either 3x - 9x...

Cartridge of the Week: The .30-06 Springfield

Good article. I have always liked the 30-06 Springfield. The only rifle I currently have that chambers it is my M-1 Garand.

    Concealed vs. Open

I have run into several people open carrying in big box stores . When I asked them why their response was "because I can". One guy advised he did have a concealed license. When I suggested he would be a bad guys first target, he advised, "My wife has a concealed permit and would shoot him"...

    Looking For Recommendations

You may want to look at a Glock 20 or Glock 29. Not sure of their availability in our current situation.

A serious message for and about us older folks

Sounds like very good advice. Also sounds like you and I are in the same phase of life. I recently lost my father and I cherish the memories of hunting, fishing, shooting and just spending time with him..
