Should I carry a spare magazine

Risk assessment. Consider the risk of getting hit by a lighting strike. Would you wear a tinfoil cap and down conductor all the time? What's the risk that a factory magazine, seldom used, cleaned monthly, would fail? Is not worrying me that much to keep it on me. Rather add a personal...

    Another p320 "accidental discharge"

I have the P365XL and the Hellcat as my two striker-fire pistols. Looking at their internals, the Hellcat striker pin is more related to the Glock ones: - is not fully under tension. To fire, the sear first "pulls back" the pin an extra distance, before releasing it - it has a "ledge" that...

Should I carry a spare magazine

Did that fall because the magazine? Or because his holster depressed the release button? Or he had an oversized button to start? Spare magazine won't help there.

Should I carry a spare magazine

Note that in my post I said "factory magazines". Why would I use forEDC something else?

Should I carry a spare magazine

I have shot close to 800 rounds from my factory magazines and they are yet to fail feeding. Why are people so worried about them failing? Does anyone has a story about factory magazines failing on you? Might as well worry about the whole gun failing. Where do we stop? Personally I have a 13+1...

Driving with a Handgun: Best Practices

That's Texas. There, like in some other states (Florida), you can't have the gun displayed in the car. In other states you can't "hide" a gun in the car (in reach) without a concealed carry permit, but you can have it open on the seat next to you. The rules are confusing and can get one in...

    Frangible bullets for EDC?

That was a good read, thank you!

    Frangible bullets for EDC?

I saw some on the last gun show that I attended, that's what made me ponder.

    Frangible bullets for EDC?

True. Although an animal skin might be tougher than a t-shirt. Testing:

    Frangible bullets for EDC?

I don't know... If you read the article, the author uses frangible bullets to hunt and saw the damage done to animal organs. As for "nobody uses them" of "FBI knows better" arguments, she also says:

Maybe they are good Liberals, taking the hint for their masters to sue gun manufacturers?

    Frangible bullets for EDC?

https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/blog/defending-your-castle-home-defense-with-frangible-bullets/ I don't have any experience with frangibles, but the above article made me think... are those better for home defense? How about EDC?

Driving with a Handgun: Best Practices

Might be not legal in some jurisdictions. In some states the handguns in a car have to be in a holster on person or in a locked compartment. https://www.thetexastrialattorney.com/blog/legal-keep-gun-car-texas/ And those car magnets don't require un-holstering and re-holstering the pistol, while...

    Springfieldgunsusa.com

Sometimes those scammers find a way to ask for that money that looks legitimate on an ulterior investigation, it does not look like a purchase of anything. Only a direct CC charge can be reversed. Don't use anything else as payment for goods. I know... because I paid $50 for that knowledge...

Driving with a Handgun: Best Practices

You are better man than me. I don't want any naked/unholstered, loaded gun pointing into my innards, leg arteries (deadly, see pic below), or family jewels, while sitting. Especially when fighting the body shape to get it in a holster. That's why in the initial post I said I think this practice...

Driving with a Handgun: Best Practices

Sitting in a car/cruiser? Because I cannot see myself getting out of the car with a pistol in hand and then holstering it. In Walmart parking lot. When I attach the holster with the gun inside, I feel safer. I could do it in the car seat. Although, now, with the new holster, I got in the habit...

Driving with a Handgun: Best Practices

That re-holstering can lead to accidents IMO. I remove the holster and the gun from belt.

    Are Single-Stack Pistols Extinct?

I was looking at the PX4 Compact. I love the idea or rotating unlocking, but when I handled the gun was, unexpectedly too bulky, stocky for me. The subcompact is not rotating and still a bit "fat". Maybe I am too picky. Hmm... Are we allowed to miss un-intentionally?

    Are Single-Stack Pistols Extinct?

I tired a few single stack pistols and, except the 1911 45, the flat and long shaped grips are weird to me, don't fit my hand. The Hellcat is almost too thin for me, I added Hogue grips on it and now it's perfect. Same with P365XL grip.
