I feel more comfortable carrying a cocked and locked 1911 than I do carrying a striker fired pistol as far as safety is concerned.

Where I live is a relatively 'low threat' area and with the exception of maybe a knife and a flashlight the carrying of the other accessories is unneeded. That is not to say, I don't have them or agree with them, because I do and wearing the proper belt, holster and clothing should be a given.

Like Annihilator said, the recoil spring is a common replacement. Having replacement springs for other springs in your gun is not a bad idea either.
