The Swampfox Sentinel will not cowitness with the OEM sights on the OSP. I know this from personal experience. It will obstruct about the bottom 2/3rds of the sights. They're still usable but not easily.

I agree with the recommendation about it being the only thing in your pocket. I have one and will regularly knock the magazine loose when reaching for my keys, which gets annoying. Half the time I don't use it because of that reason.

Valid concerns all around. There's always the option of using an optic that can serve as the rear iron. Several, like the holosuns, have a sight channel in the housing, which isn't quite the same but it's better than nothing.

For a carry gun I would never go without irons. That option replaces the rear sight and completely obscures the front. I don't care if it is a Trijicon, I'm never running a carry pistol with only an optic. Parts fail, and electronics fail first, and when/if my optic fails I want irons there as...

I think he means the non-OSP version. You'd most likely need to have the slide milled to fit the optic you want. I'm not aware of any adapter plates that would let you use the rear dovetail.

My understanding is that they're additional points of contact that the optic can use to mitigate the effects of recoil on the mounting screws. If the optic is made to sit properly on those lugs it'll take stress off the screws, in theory reducing the chance of a screw breaking under recoil and...

I'm having the same issue - love the hellcat's texture in the hand but it's very hard on the side when carried. I've been thinking about putting some rubber talon grips on to cover it up.

No, not completely. The sentinel will block approximately the lower 2/3rds of the iron sights. I liked the optic but ultimately returned mine for this reason.

I took the quick/cheap way out and just painted the white semi-circle with glow-on paint. It actually turned out pretty well. I tried to get a picture in complete darkness so it'd show up better. This was the best one I could manage It's not exactly perfect but for $14 I won't complain...

Another reloader here. Like someone else said I don't reload to save money, I do it because its part of the hobby and I like the ability to roll my own.

I've asked a few people who specialize in springfield parts (including xdman himself) and have been told the OSP has a special dovetail that nobody makes sights for yet. I'd love to know if you find another option.

Either one would make the Swampfox suitable. It'd be nice if somebody made taller sights that fit the Hellcat OSP but apparently nobody does. So if I fault the Hellcat it's for having what seems to be a unique dovetail for the rear sight that nobody (yet) replicates.
