Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

The Swampfox Sentinel will not cowitness with the OEM sights on the OSP. I know this from personal experience. It will obstruct about the bottom 2/3rds of the sights. They're still usable but not easily.

Problem seating RMSc on Hellcat OSP

Hi All, Has anyone who's tried the Shield RMSc run into this issue? The sight won't sit flush on the recoil lugs on my Hellcat OSP. I've tried a Swampfox in the past and it fit just fine, but this RMSc won't. This picture shows the best I could manage. This is without the screws, it's...

NEOMAG: EASILY CARRY YOUR SPARE MAGS

I agree with the recommendation about it being the only thing in your pocket. I have one and will regularly knock the magazine loose when reaching for my keys, which gets annoying. Half the time I don't use it because of that reason.

Trijicon RMRcc Review: Best Non-OSP Red Dot Sight?

Valid concerns all around. There's always the option of using an optic that can serve as the rear iron. Several, like the holosuns, have a sight channel in the housing, which isn't quite the same but it's better than nothing.

Trijicon RMRcc Review: Best Non-OSP Red Dot Sight?

For a carry gun I would never go without irons. That option replaces the rear sight and completely obscures the front. I don't care if it is a Trijicon, I'm never running a carry pistol with only an optic. Parts fail, and electronics fail first, and when/if my optic fails I want irons there as...

Springfield Hellcat Review: Best CCW 9mm Ever

I think he means the non-OSP version. You'd most likely need to have the slide milled to fit the optic you want. I'm not aware of any adapter plates that would let you use the rear dovetail.

Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

Not really. I have another red dot on a different pistol and it's usable. It has a 3 moa dot, but it looks more like a jagged - to me than a circle. I'm just concerned about the 507K because of the reticle choice. I don't know how bad the large circle will look, and if I turn that off I'm...

Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

I went from the Swampfox to nothing at the moment. The 507K is currently my first choice but I have somewhat of an astigmatism that makes red dots a bit blurry. The 407K has a 6 moa dot which is bigger than I want. The 507K has a 2 moa dot which I'm concerned will be a bit too small for me...

Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

Agreed, typically having a slide milled to accept a dot means a flat surface. As long as the screws are solid I would think the Holosuns will be fine. Please see my post above about the Swampfox. I had one and it seemed like a solid optic (I mounted but never fired it), but it will block most...

Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

My understanding is that they're additional points of contact that the optic can use to mitigate the effects of recoil on the mounting screws. If the optic is made to sit properly on those lugs it'll take stress off the screws, in theory reducing the chance of a screw breaking under recoil and...

Hellcat grip is shredding my shirts

I'm having the same issue - love the hellcat's texture in the hand but it's very hard on the side when carried. I've been thinking about putting some rubber talon grips on to cover it up.

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

I'm sticking with irons for now. If the sentinel had a gap at the back like the shields do it would have been perfect. I like the looks of the holosuns but I don't want to modify the slide yet and I'm still waiting for a picture to see what the 507k looks like when mounted with an adapter plate.

    Hellcat OSP Optic choices

No, not completely. The sentinel will block approximately the lower 2/3rds of the iron sights. I liked the optic but ultimately returned mine for this reason.

Tritium Rear Sight for a Hellcat OSP

I took the quick/cheap way out and just painted the white semi-circle with glow-on paint. It actually turned out pretty well. I tried to get a picture in complete darkness so it'd show up better. This was the best one I could manage It's not exactly perfect but for $14 I won't complain...

Top 5 Hellcat Red Dot Optics

I can speak from personal experience that no it does not. The Swampfox Sentinel will obstruct approximately the bottom 2/3rds of the Hellcat's front sight. IMHO that's unacceptable for a carry gun. From my research the only optics currently available that will not obstruct the Hellcat's...

Rear Night Sights for Hellcat OSP??

I've asked a few people who specialize in springfield parts (including xdman himself) and have been told the OSP has a special dovetail that nobody makes sights for yet. I'd love to know if you find another option.

Swampfox Sentinel Review: Your Next Hellcat Red Dot?

I decided to return my Sentinel. It looks great and the build quality seems high, but unfortunately the body blocks about 2/3rds of the irons. The u-dot is almost unusable with the Sentinel installed. It may sound like nitpicking but I want a full sight picture on the off chance the optic...

    What’s Wrong with the Hellcat?

Either one would make the Swampfox suitable. It'd be nice if somebody made taller sights that fit the Hellcat OSP but apparently nobody does. So if I fault the Hellcat it's for having what seems to be a unique dovetail for the rear sight that nobody (yet) replicates.
