Crucial Concealment Universal Light Holster Review

As usual, I am an oddball. I don’t have a box of holsters. I bought and still have a hybrid holster from Crossbreed. I wore it all day yesterday while cleaning up limbs and debris. I was doing a lot of moving, stooping over and sweating and the holster and gun stayed where they were supposed...

How to Escape the Echo Chamber by Developing Critical Thinking Skills

We live in a strange time, totally foreign to the one most of us grew up in. My dad taught me to not believe anything you hear and only about half what you see. With AI and other ways to deceive you, even believing half of what you see is getting pretty doubtful. Critical thinking,as...

Here’s What NORAD’s Commander Just Told Us About The Langley AFB Drone Incursions

Kind of like “We don’t know but we are looking into it.”

9mm for Personal Defense – Insert Argument Here.

As in most things in life, we have to make choices regarding which caliber provides what we think we need with the least amount of compromise. For most new shooters, 9 mm fits pretty well for personal protection, given a choice. Having more data helps if a person is struggling with that...

    J frames forever

I put Hogue grips on my J frame, and you are right —much more difficult to keep hidden. I have considered going back to factory grips but so far just try to make sure the pocket position is as good as can be so the but isn’t exposed. Like the article said,a J frame is just so darn convenient.

Avoid Being a Target — Is Your Pistol Truly Concealed?

Good for you, Flyboy514. A handgun left in the underwear drawer doesn’t help much when you are at Kroger grabbing a gallon of milk. 😊

New Gunpowder, Primer Production In Arkansas

Thanks for the link, Talyn. Some may not agree, but I think Sarah Huckabee Sanders is doing a good job as Governor.

Maybe 1999 was when all the craziness we are in now started?

    Speed Loader

The Uplula is faster and easier than loading by hand, but when I first opened the thread I though it was going to be about revolver loading. In my usual “fat, dumb and happy” mentality, I have always associated speed loaders with something from HKS or similar that will hold a revolver reload...

If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?

Wow Bella! That was a monster! It is indeed good that you had the skid steer and chainsaw with you or on the property somewhere. Cutting and moving that tiny little thing by hand would have taken a while!

    Speed Loader

I agree with the Maglula Uplula even though it is not a Springfield product. I have had one for a while now and it is a thumb saver! Plus, you can get even a new magazine completely full even if you have a touch (or more) of arthritis in your hands.

Is a .22LR round plausible for self defense?

Welcome to the forum, GH55. This topic, like a lot of others, has been discussed a lot. The thing we sometimes forget is occasionally there are new shooters here who may benefit from the discussion, though it can get a little robust at times. I don’t think there are any Rambo’s here, but...

Thanks Killer (and Joe). I was not aware of that. Good info.

So, this is their idea of a "real man"?

It looked to me more like he was unloading rather than loading, but I’m not sure. Strange video! And if like Xdman said he didn’t have a plug in, wouldn’t that be a violation that he just put on video for the world to see?

    Will Your Mags Fail You?

I understand perfectly, but when might you find out your last practice session damaged the mag in your gun enough to cause a problem? I know lots of folks and experts encourage it, but until I have a separate (but identical) gun and mags to practice with, I won’t be dropping such a critical...
