I just replaced the Ronin slide lock with a Wilson Combat lock-problem solved

I have watched several vids of disassembly/reassembly of the 1911 and they just pop the slide release in with no difficulty. I have to use a credit card to slip it in-and yes i have an idiot scratch. What‘s the deal?

New from central Indiana. Gun owner since October 2020 (rookie). 2 Glocks and a Ruger .22. Wanted to have a 1911 so I got a Ronin. What a beautiful piece of work.
