    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

Yeah they absolutely got it turned around faster than I thought they would. I should have mentioned that, it was definitely less than 4 weeks including the transit. Impressive considering the holiday season. And now that it actually works….LOVE this gun. I’d carry it if I could find a solid...

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

Wanted to update. I sent it in to Springfield. The guy I talked to on the phone was fast and friendly. I got it back two days ago. Kind of annoyed they didn’t notify me that they were shipping it. Luckily I just happened to be at home when FedEx came. And they didn’t actually disclose what...

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

Now that I see it mentioned it was the extractor tension my gunsmith adjusted yesterday and he showed me what you’re describing with putting the round in place and said the tolerance was in spec. A friend of mine who introduced me to the 1911 is gonna help me clean and oil it. I will definitely...

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

Just wanted to follow up on my experience taking it out one more time today. I spent the morning racking and dry firing it a couple hundred times. Went to the range and bought two boxes of federal. I took the first magazine (the larger capacity one it came with) and loaded 10 rounds at a time...

I waited this long to get it….what’s another couple weeks to make sure it’s in good working order right?

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

I will dig around for those. Thanks for the help. And I did end up contacting Springfield this morning and they already have a label sent to me to drop off at FedEx. Thanks everyone for the help. Much appreciated!

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

It’s jammed into the feed ramp. My gunsmith when he took it apart commented that the feed ramp looked great no rough spots. The bullet clears just fine with a quick rack and next bullet goes into place just fine.

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

Casing ejects and then slide doesn’t come back into ready position (sorry I don’t know the technical term) and the next round is not chambering as you can see in the first picture I posted in my first post. The position of the slide in that picture was exactly how it stopped after a shot.

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

I appreciate the insight and will do tear downs and clean/lube on purchase before firing going forward. I will look into the Ballistol. Thanks for the recommendation. Like I said loved the gun when it was firing well. My only actual complaint about the gun as a hole is I don’t care for the slide...

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

So I went and Racked it a few times. When I pull it back first picture below it has a bit of a hesitation at this spot. It’s not really noticable on a fast rack but I can feel it a little and on the release it seems find. Other than that it feels quite smooth (and I’m prefacing my next sentence...

    New Prodigy 4.25” initial problems

My local Scheels finally had one of these in. Picked it up this morning and took it to the range. I did not clean it prior to shooting it. I had a box of blazer 115. I shot 5 rounds no problem. Put another 5 in no problem. However it quickly deteriorated from here. I tried both magazines and...
