These are the magazines that were sold with the gun brand new. I have no idea what they are. When SA replaced the defective one that wouldn’t lock the slide open after last round, they sent the exact same kind. I will look at WC

I’m going to disassemble the bad magazine that SA replaced and see what I can find out

I haven’t either that’s why I came to the professionals on here 😁. With 8,7 and 6 rounds they don’t fall out but the magazine won’t drop freely. I have to pull it out and they are hanging in the magazine by a thread. With 5 rounds everything works perfect.

These are the magazines that came with it. I already had to return one because after last round, it wouldn’t lock the slide open. And here she is swaddled in a Mitch Rosin 5JR express with added liner

So far both magazines do it. I will try one less and see. Side note: I called SA customer service and was told that this is completely normal. Never had this issue with any other semi auto before but this is my first foray into 1911’s

One of my LGS(now that I know what it stands for) told me the same thing about the prodigy and said he could put in an order for it but S/A may send the 5”. So now I’m back to wondering if Gunbroker isn’t such a bad idea. Found 1 who doesn’t have cc fees……and a LGS who only charges 5 bucks for...

I really like the look of this Emissary….. I may look for a good smith and see what they would charge me. I am new to 1911 pistols but have always wanted one. Got a Hellcat when they first came out and I love it but it’s a totally different animal from a 1911 I’m sure.

I was all ready to pull the trigger(no pun intended) on the Springfield Armory 1911 Emissary 4.25” 9mm until I read it is only for right handers….. again…… how much more does it cost to at least make it ambidextrous? Alas……The search continues…..anyone know of another make that has that...
