This is true. But I DO know how it looked BEFORE I shot it, right? Especially since I field striped, cleaned and lubed it as stated.

It shot well enough. I do like the gun, but of course that does not excuse it from problems.

Agreed. ANY Dan Wesson is a top notch product. I currently own a 3 DW 1911's. 1 Valkyrie 9mm, 2 Valors ( VBOB & 5" VALOR). People question the wisedom of using an Alloy frome and a SS slide. My Valkyrie has several thousand rounds downrange with no abnormal wear.
