Doing it in practice is like sighting in a rifle from a bench. It doesn't really matter out in the wild but.... doing your absolute best under controlled conditions makes the uncontrolled conditions easier to control.
Not sure that I've ever shot a Bakersfield. The roundup I have but has been a while ago and I don't remember. I will shoot both at my next range visit and let you know for sure.
The .380 like the 9mm is a lot stronger than factory rounds suggest. The book maximum load can be safely bypassed. It can be uploaded to near 9mm specs. This must only be done by an experienced loader well versed in what to look for by way of pressure and one must use a chrono.
A week ago today at a defensive pistol match, with my 3 in Ronin EMP, I did 1.37 second, from cover, 3 rounds at 3 yards 0 points down. First shot was at .98 seconds.
