    Happy Memorial Day!

Awesome! Nine 16" guns that with full broad side would send shock waves through the water. Thanks to men like your father, this battleship saw service even during the late eighties!

    Some thoughts on mass shooters

My heart goes out to all the innocents whose lives are brutally and violently taken away from them by murderers and assassins, and also to the families and friends who are affected by such terrible losses. With regard to the recent mass shootings, you have to wonder the extent to which easy...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Wondering whether or not quality increases the longer a particular model has been in production? Maybe there’s no rhyme or reason to it, especially if QC is inconsistent.🤷‍♂️ Is there a way to ascertain the date or the year of production, via the serial number?

    Yes, of course, good point!

    Spec-Ops Holographic Sight Zeroing

Practical and useful explanation/diagramming of the spreads from twenty-five to three hundred for 25’, 36’, 50’ and 100’ zeros. I have mine currently set for 50’ where the range maximum is 100 yards. Soon I will be regularly using a range with a 300’ max, so I think I try out a 36’ zero. Makes...

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

Completely agree with your sentiments. I find it untenable that some gun manufacturer's seem to have adopted the notion that they can turn gun buyers into beta testers of their products. I think that such a misguided attitude about QC with guns could have unintended or disastrous consequences.

    Kimber and Springfield 1911s…

This is very encouraging all around! Good to hear that your discovery of smoothing out the underside of the slide to increase reliability and performance will be passed along. Excellent CS from SA! The underside of the slide on my Ronin EMP 3 near the disconnector is becoming noticeably...

    Gun Control May 17

I must say that the recent posts have certainly generated many questions that I will soon be running by my instructors. Interestingly enough, how to execute a mag dump out to 7 yards was introduced last week, and will be continuing with this at my next session, but now with a different...

    Richmond Falcon Cam

Very cool. (y) Have this book-marked. BTW, canoeing, paddling, tubing, etc. down the James is a lot of fun and the scenery is pretty spectacular.

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Steverino said: How about Putin's Proletariat Pivo (beer in Russian пиво) sponsored by AOC? PPP or **** water to the 3rd degree! 😜 A Trump sponsored libation could capitalize on the "deplorables" moniker, but I'm not coming up with anything quite catchy right now to go along with that. 😐...

I think you're onto something. Nothing like some marketing to, ahem, push history along.🤔 How about Putin's Proletariat Pivo (beer in Russian пиво) sponsored by AOC? PPP or **** water to the 3rd degree! 😜

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Although more pricey, a lot of the German Pilsners are less heavy, lower carb and often fermented to a higher ALC% to leave less residual sugar. Typically drier on the finish, but still pretty flavorful. That being said, a lot of micro breweries and local brew pubs start pumping out...

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Grand Marnier is often used for making crepes, especially at restaurants that also like to set them on fire for show. :D I like it on my Sunday brunch pancakes ;), sometimes with maple syrup, too!

Ayoob: Cows’ Udders and the Crush Grip

Good article. Now about the thumb . . . curled under as shown in one of the photos works very well for one-handed, correct? For two-handed, where are you putting your shooting hand thumb on a 1911? Under, or on the safety? I've heard pros and cons either way, and I'm still experimenting with...

Trio of Democrats unveil federal gun licensing bill

New Jersey . . . object lesson in extortion and how to squeeze blood out of a turnip (as a homage to it being the Garden State, many parts of which I discovered to be very nice). N.J. cops write 100K license plate frame tickets a year. Knock it off, lawmakers say.
