Springfield Armory SOCOM 16 Rifle Round-Up

I just received my order of a M1A Scout/Squad. Nothing against the Socom, I just didn't have the funds for that rifle. My military service allowed me to get one at the firstline costs, Thank You Springfield. I am now on the hunt for ammo for the weapon so I can practice for the up coming deer...

    danged squirrels

I will agree with Papa on the pigeons, and squirrel meat has a much better flavour than rabbit.

    danged squirrels

They do make a tasty stew. A little tougher than a rabbit so cook it in a slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, onions, and any other vegetables you like in stews. Par boil the squirrel pieces first and remove the meat from the bones before putting it into the slow cooker.

    danged squirrels

My mother used to plant marigolds around the garden that usually kept the rabbits and squirrels out. I have never seen a squirrel eat that type of plant material, I would be more inclined to believe it was a rabbit unless you saw it eating the plant. Another option is to spread diatomeaous earth...

    My Moose Hunt Journey

That is my dream hunt for sure. Nice article. The meat from a moose is absolutely the best wild game i have ever eaten. Being 67 now I doubt whether I'll ever get the chance to make that hunt a reality.

Flying the Bell AH-1 Cobra Gunship

Steve, I am so sorry that your son was KIA. I am glad he was doing what he liked to do and that you got to enjoy and be a part of it. Most parents don't get that opportunity to be a part of their son's career. You not only got to be a part of it you got to see him doing it. Honor him this coming...

Flying the Bell AH-1 Cobra Gunship

I was a crew chief and in charge of 5 UH-1H. I loved flying in that Huey. I am not sure how much actual stick time I have but our Company commander and most of the pilots were all Vietnam vets, and they knew what it meant to have their chiefs know how to operate the aircraft in an emergency. My...

My Philosophy on the 10mm Ronin

I have a Ronin in 9mm and a Range Officer in 45acp. I really like shooting both of these pistols. I carry mine in a shoulder rig. It bothers my back to much to carry that weapon on my hip. Both of my older grand kids have shot these pistols and have actually done better hitting the target with...

Gotta ask, any squirrel hunters here

Tox - I just purchased a small 22lr revolver for that very purpose. If I don't get the big meat I may bring home some multiple smaller portions, to bad my wife doesn't enjoy it. I ask her sister over when I fix it because she likes it.

Gotta ask, any squirrel hunters here

I enjoy squirrel more than rabbit even though it is a little bit smaller animal. It doesn't matter how it's prepared, but my favorite is a stew in which just before served you add fresh peach slices, to die for.
