Avoid Being a Target — Is Your Pistol Truly Concealed?

Tl/DR: I'm picky about my shoes. I think it's because I've had so many jobs that require me to be on my feet or walking for most of my shift and because I did a lot of hiking in the mountains. The best boots that I've found for serious walking or hiking are the Belleville's I went to Basic...

Avoid Being a Target — Is Your Pistol Truly Concealed?

I read an article by Claude Werner once in which he said if you want to fade into the background anywhere you're at wear some worn out work jeans a T-shirt and a yellow safety vest. People will assume you're coming or going from work and nobody will pay any attention to you.

Avoid Being a Target — Is Your Pistol Truly Concealed?

If you throw a rock in Colorado Springs you're going to hit a middle aged white guy, with a military haircut, wearing Wrangler cargo pants and a camp shirt. When I'm out in public people almost never pay attention to me.. if I notice somebody is paying attention to me I'm paying attention to...

Military Armories And How They Work

I've never seen an Armory that big. I'm not saying they don't have them, just I've never seen one. When I was in Germany the unit I was assigned to Lost an M16 in the field. They had us searching for that weapon for a month before they finally gave up. They had us quarantined in the field. No...

Avoid Being a Target — Is Your Pistol Truly Concealed?

Maybe it's me but I can see the Bulge. But I was also looking for it. If I walked past this guy in Walmart I don't know if I would even pay any attention to him. I think the biggest mistake that people make is thinking nobody's paying attention anyway. Most people aren't but I promise you...

Top 3 Methods for Shooting with a Handheld Flashlight

I want to clarify that I could see the rectangular outline of the target not the silhouette. I had to fire because it was qualifications but in the real world there's no way I would fire in that circumstance.

Top 3 Methods for Shooting with a Handheld Flashlight

FWIW When I worked for G4S they made us do "low Light" shooting every 6 months. They used B27 targets and anything in the 8 ring or better counted as a hit. They just turned off most of the lights on the Range and had us shoot. Everybody passed and I can't speak for anybody else but even...

US Army Soldier/ISIS collaborator given 14 years

The United States Army hasn't executed a soldier since April 13, 1961. John A. Bennett was hanged for the rape and attempted murder of an 11 year old Austrian girl. ETA In the entire 20th century only 135 Service Members total were executed. Mostly for purely criminal offenses during WWII...

    Cool weather options

I'm normally not outside for extended periods when I'm not moving. I go with layers under and a lighter outer fleece. I'm able to stay relatively warm when I'm outside but not too hot inside. I generally stay with my Glock 19 on my strong side in a Kramer holster.

How to Find or Build Basic Shelter

The first thing I thought when I read this article was there are very few empty caves in my woods. I'm throughly convinced that you're better off bringing your own shelter than trying to build or take one. My wife and I have been on pre-evacuation more than once due to wildfires so I decided...

Is the .45’s Stopping Power a Myth?

I've talked about this before. When I worked for HSS and Allied I carried a 9mm. G4S issued me an M&P40. I never ran into a crackhead that seemed impressed at all by the fact that I had a gun. Some of them yelled at me, some of them screamed at me, some of them attacked me knowing that I...

    Totally Unbelievable

IDK my seventh grade English teacher gave me a few of these And as I'm getting older I'm finding out that several of the girls that I was in 10th Grade with were sleeping with their teachers.
