    A Retired LEO’s Special Mil-Spec 1911

Thank you for your service, Sir! I am jealous of your history and familiarity with the 1911. My Grandfather carried a 1911 in WWI. My LE career went 9mm to .40 to 9mm and back to .40. I’m still at the “10mm short” around these parts. I won’t be turning down a .45 offer at the range. I appreciate...

    Victorinox Farmer Alox Review

I have a red Alox Farmer, which I like. The saw is superlative. But my all-time favorite is the Tinker for the same reason as SLD1959.

CRKT Provoke Review: Karambit with a Twist

I feel ya, Bassbob. I have a few safe queens in my collection. While there are more expensive versions of the Provoke, Springfield Armory’s version clocks in at $99.99. I’m not above abusing it at that cost!

CRKT Provoke Review: Karambit with a Twist

Thanks, 10mikemike. I wish I had your training background. Agreed on CRKT products. They have assembled an impressive list of knife makers as their designers. As a result, CRKT’s lineup has been very creative. Springfield Armory chose some good knives and tools with which to collaborate. Randall

CRKT Provoke Review: Karambit with a Twist

Bassbob, I thought the price point was reasonable considering the features and choice of materials. I remember when a hundred Washingtons would get you an Emerson or other “high-end” folder. Thanks for dropping a comment, sincerely. Randall

Balisong: What Is a Butterfly Knife?

Well done, Todd. The balisong has quite an interesting history. Here is another viewpoint from now-defunct balisongcollector.com. https://www.balisongcollector.com/history.html Regardless, I like the click-clack. Thanks for the article! Randall

Springfield Armory Model 2020 Knife Review

Thanks, Sld1959. I agree it is a nice and functional knife. I’m not necessarily a forward jimping or paracord wrap kinda guy, but for those who are, these are options. Appreciate your weighing in! Randall
