A "Loaded" Question If There Ever Was One

I would keep the CZ-75, to me it’s the better gun; and it is as good or better than the SA 35.

Anyone carry a Mil-Spec 1911? If so let’s talk about the pros and cons

I live in Florida, where I think that Constitutional Carry is destined to become the law. I lived in Ohio, when there was no carry, OC or concealed, at the time. And now they are Constitutional Carry, and that is minor miracle. I am going to get a CCW one of these days, but old age and an...

This is what is wrong with many top lists.

I could live with the RIA Baby Rock in .380, or a tiny Glock 43 in 9mm. ( I go back and forth on the .380 ACP, but those teensy 1911 styles appeal to me.) But I’m easy to please.

Anyone carry a Mil-Spec 1911? If so let’s talk about the pros and cons

It’s a perfectly fine gun for carry. I will wear my Colt 1911 every once in a while, if I ever get off of my butt, and get a concealed carry permit.

went and got a new gun today

I thought that the gun would be big in my hand, but the grip helped me to shoot it well. Now, it’s one of my favorites. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

went and got a new gun today

The stainless models look great, and I have hit pop n flop targets at 100+ meters with the Army model. That sealed the deal right there, it made an impression on me, that lasts until this day. It was 25 years ago. I would like to look at a M92 Compact as a concealed weapon. They are very...

    Is Ammo Really More Expensive?

When I was young $5 would buy about 4 gallons of gas. But now it won’t get you 2 gallons around here, with prices around $3 per gallon of gasoline. I have noticed that a $50 bill, is eaten up when I buy groceries, and it has become like the $20 of 1980. And I can remember when gas was about...

went and got a new gun today

I have never tried a Hi Power, and it was available to me in an Army PX, but I got a Security Six .357 instead. At the time I preferred the caliber .357 Mag to a 9 mm, and I still do, 40 years later. But the Beretta really changed my outlook, since it is a fantastic gun. I had a great time...

went and got a new gun today

I think that you will like the gun, I never had any trouble firing one, and they are very accurate.

    Is Ammo Really More Expensive?

Yes, bottles of pop are $2 at the Wal Mart check out, and I am behind the times. I never buy pop at the register, I always get a 2 liter. I think that you are right, ammo prices will never go back to where they were. The sellers know the people will pay $1 or more per round now.

    Is Ammo Really More Expensive?

I think that your math is wrong, $6 in 1961 rates might be $24-30, but not more than that. I remember when a 16 oz bottle of pop cost .12 cents, and now I see it priced at over a dollar. Now that is inflation. But in a lot of areas, I think prices have become unstable. And cheap prices are history.

The Delta Elite is one of the best guns that I have fired. Its just a great shooting gun.

Probably a Stupid Question About 1911 Magazines...

I use Chip McCormick, and it holds 8 and it fits flush, and it doesn’t seem to wear out.

That is a sharp looking gun, wood grips on a blued/black gun, it just looks good.

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

Quote: Should it hit the proverbial fan, a trained shooter would reach for their firearm versus a knife. But what if your firearm wasn’t an option and your everyday carry (EDC) knife ends up being your primary defensive tool? End quote. And that’s how the article started. You are making leaps...

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

The thread topic is Blades For Self Defense: Fearsome Or Foolhardy. I have been to Saint Louis and I had a Super Blackhawk under my front seat. The events that I related happened in Huntington WV, which has been invaded by Detroit. I know some guys from Detroit, I met them in jail while...

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

OK, I was just relating what happened to me, and maybe I am too Frank for my own good. This is not meant to malign anyone here, but nothing bad will ever happen to you, if you choose to stay locked up in your apartment, or drive away in your car. And that’s what the vast majority have chosen to do.

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

I like mine, and I like the way that it looks. I am a city boy, and I got that knife for dogs and thugs. If a dog attacks me, he can chew on that knife and not my fingers. I know that I sound pretty hard, but I have had some bad things happen to me.

Blades for Self-Defense: Fearsome or Foolhardy?

I didn’t have a baseball bat and neither will you if you are attacked on the street. I had a folding Buck knife, and my story is not a fictional matter, one way of the other, it’s what happened. And while I am here, I know of guy that was struck with a baseball bat, and it broke his arm. I went...
