    Love my new M1A!

I would love to have a very basic M1A. The "US Rifle, M14, 7.62MM, gas-operated, magazine-fed, semi- or fully-automatic shoulder fired weapon" was undoubtedly the greatest rifle I ever fired. Between wearing tri-focals and having torn my right rotator cuff (twice), firing any long gun is now a...

Based on past production, how long does it take for new model to widely hit the market?

Availability of firearms and ammo is a crap-shoot (pun intended) at this point. I had been trying for 18 months to get a Colt Government Competition Series .45. I lucked onto an SA Garrison .45 and said screw the Colt.

    Springfield Armory Garrison 1911 Review

A question on the Garrison. I'd kind of like to have a fiber-optic front sight on mine but can't seem to find one which would install without some machining. It's not a Novak and I can't locate the one which SA puts on the Ronin. Any ideas?

    Springfield Armory Garrison 1911 Review

Well, I guess the Moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter has aligned with Mars. Called my LGS this afternoon to ask him to try to find a Garrison for me and he had just un-packed one! Got what would pass for a good deal in the current weapons shortage. Looks like a dandy. I'm "old school"...

First Look: Springfield Armory SA-35 9mm

Another addition to my "dream sheet". Now waiting for an SA-35 as well as a Ronin .45.

What is the Effective Range of 5.56mm ammo?

As I recall, Uncle Sugar told us that the maximum range of the M16, with ball ammunition, was something like 3,900 yards. The maximum effective range, though, was only 600 yards. (Either way, I'd rather have had my old M14!)

Rittenhouse not guilty on all counts.

Hmmm. Unless it was a bunch of 17-year-olds wearing green clothes.

    Agree on all counts!

    "SI" Rollmark

Makes sense. I guess "Springfield Armory" is the trade name and "Springfield Inc." is the corporate name, then. Thanks. (And Roger on Brandon! ;) )

    Springfield Armory Garrison 1911 Review

I mis-spoke. It's not the Ronin which has the adjustable rear sight. I was thinking about the Colt Government Model Competition. (Dummy!)

    "SI" Rollmark

What does the "SI" (as in "SI GENESEO II USA") roll mark on the 1911 frame indicate?

    Springfield Armory Garrison 1911 Review

I wish the Garrison had the same FO front and adjustable rear sights as the Ronin. Actually prefer the Garrison, other than that.
