    Recommended 1911 in 9mm

What would you suggest for a 1911 in 9mm under $1,000. I prefer the look of the Garrison or similar. Accuracy and reliability preferred.

Useful hand primer doodad recommendations wanted

I may have an issue using Magtech primers in my Dillon, so I would like your recommendation for a hand primer thingee. In the meantime I will move those primers to the bottom and use other brands. I have a crusty one I received from a late friend's widow, but it's kinda nasty looking. I also...

    Magtech primers

I started using Magtech LPP yesterday and found that many of them are not seating fully. I was reloading .45 ACP with mixed brass and had a crapload of them not fully seating. I pulled them and sent them back through the primer stage. I noticed that Winchester brass didn't have an issue from a...

    Online shipping

I don't know about you guys, but when I get a notification about an item being shipped, I get po'd when I check in 3 days later saying they created a label. Don't tell me it's shipped when clearly, you haven't. Time for my blood pressure meds.

Magtech LPP at Natchez for $69.99

I never heard of Magtech primers, but the price is very tempting. Has anyone had good luck with these before?

    AC delivered to wrong house

I've been waiting for my delivery today and find out it was delivered. Checked outside and nothing is there. I'm not happy right now. Fed Ex delivered box somewhere and I notified them it is missing. Good thing I can't check my BP.

I Empathize with Those Who Live in States With Waiting Periods

I've never had to wait days or a month to receive a new gun at a store until now. I found my next gun at a gun shop and found out I couldn't buy it without a hard driver's license. I had a paper temporary, but it wasn't good enough. I had let mine lapse and had to get a new one. I was surprised...

Bought a used Range Officer today

Stainless model with fiber optic front sight. No box or extra mags. Priced under $600. I'll pick it up when my license comes in a week or so. I was surprised a few days ago to find I was carrying an expired license. Oops. Looking forward to shooting it.

Last surviving original member of the Moody Blues has died

The Moody Blues were big from '67-'73, my formative years. Nights in White Satin & Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band were some of their early hits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moody_Blues

    It's National Pet Day

It's officially National Pet Day FWIW. It's kinda pet day every day at our house. Our latest is our first small dog. Here's a pic of Rosie and her first encounter with a chicken.

Dillon sending parts 5 minutes after request

I was reloading some .45 ACP and had several cases without a primer. Several times I noticed it while working, but evidently not every time. I filled out a ticket for the parts; disk, arm and spring and submitted to Dillon. Within 5 minutes I got a response saying the parts were on the...

    Sportsmans Warehouse sale

They're calling it Range Days. The flyer is chock full of sale guns. I'm gun poor at the moment, but there are some really good deals on a plethora of brands and types. I have no financial connection with SW.

    My Ruger lightweight came in

I checked my heart rate while waiting for the gun to come in. It was normal, though I thought my heart was a bit loud. I'd never used the ffl I used this time before, then I got a text from UPS saying it was delivered. We were in the middle of a bloody movie so I waited over an hour. I finally...

Cancon event coming up in Phoenix

I just got an announcement for this event at Ben Avery shooting range in Phoenix from Gunbroker. Tickets are $50/person April 18-20. This gives you the ability to shoot suppressed all day. I don't know if the lines would be like Disneyland or how it all works, but it looks like fun.

    Recommend 1 powder for handguns

I need to order or buy powder for handguns. Most common types reloaded: .32 mag., .38 Spec., .45 Schofield, .45 ACP and .45 Colt. Not as often: .380 ACP and 9mm. I'm currently am using Titegroup, but have used 231, Bullseye, American Select, Clays and WSL. Prefer 8 lb. kegs under $280.

Tisas US Army has a mean bite

I ran a few magazines through my Tisas after the Wild Bunch match yesterday and it didn't take long for the hammer to bite me. The web of my hand goes over the grip safety and the hammer comes down on that, giving me a nice pinch. I'll need to wear a piece of tape there if I want to shoot 150...

    MEC shot bottle broke

While loading some shotshells, the shot bottle broke at the neck on my MEC Sizemaster. It was cold in the garage and the shaking evidently caused the neck to break and shot went everywhere. I ordered a new one from Amazon. I'm wondering if the bottle support would help protecting them in the...

    Grips came in

Despite receiving an email saying the grips would be delayed until the 9th, they came yesterday (5th). Dark blue/black goes nicely with the gray cerakote finish. Came with screws, o rings and wrench. Nice fit and I can reach the magazine button easier. Less than $20 delivered.

Tisas US Army .45 came today

I had an issue with my first FFL. Finally called the online store and they suggested another FFL. I did that, they sent it Tuesday and got it today. Mag release is a bit stiff, can't wait to try it. Machining looks very nice. Loaded a couple from a mag and chambered nicely. Barrel bushing seems...
