@Shibadog i have a tensioned barrel on the MLR22 and it too is super accurate. It is aluminum wrapped not carbon but will shoot <0.5” groups at 40yds all day long off a bag. I have it sitting in an archangel stock.
@Belt Fed I know. I specifically got a threaded barrel for a future suppressor. My PA exit plan/dream includes enough property to set up a 50yd rimfire range where I'd shoot suppressed and no one would even know.
@Belt Fed unfortunately, we cannot have suppressors. When i can escape this state i will put a can on it. Within 5-7 years i’ll be able to move out of NJ, most likely heading to PA. In the meantime i’m thinking of putting a comp on it. It looks “scarier” that way. 😁
@Retired Bum We don’t have any kids of our own and our friend’s kids are all grown. However, this will be a learning rifle for those that want try their hand at some shooting.
There is an outside chance that i might get my wife out. If i do then this will be her rifle.

Even if they are technically “legal” and not considered a pistol grip NJ is full of rabid anti-gunner DA’s just waiting for their chance to prosecute the evil gun people. They would twist the verbiage on the books more than a pretzel in order to make a point. It really is a bad state for gun owners.
@BassCliff NJ has similar wording to that for defining and “assault weapon” but thumbhole stocks are not specifically mentioned. You never know in this state.
I am building a “steel challenge” style rifle that will utilized a thumbhole stock, which would be no problem. However, I’m also using a...
